Seit Donnerstag habe ich ein #Firmenhandy, welches ich dank #DualSim auch privat nutzen kann. Bei der Einrichtung habe ich mich extra dafür entschieden, nicht alle Apps meines alten #Smartphones zu übernehmen. Bis jetzt habe ich noch keine #YoutubeApp installiert und habe auch noch kein Bedürfnis, obwohl ich sonst mehrere Stunden darin verblödet bin. 👌🫡

WhatsApp na iPhone’a w końcu obsłuży dwa konta jednocześnie

To jedna z najbardziej wyczekiwanych funkcji przez użytkowników sprzętu Apple, którzy korzystają z dwóch numerów telefonu.

Meta w końcu rozpoczęła testy natywnej obsługi wielu kont w WhatsAppie na iOS. Koniec z koniecznością instalowania wersji „Business”, by obsłużyć drugi numer.

Jak donosi serwis 9to5Mac (powołując się na WABetaInfo), nowa funkcja pojawiła się właśnie w najnowszej wersji beta aplikacji dostępnej poprzez TestFlight.

Jak to będzie działać?

Do tej pory, aby mieć dwa WhatsAppy na jednym iPhonie, trzeba było uciekać się do sztuczek lub instalować osobną aplikację WhatsApp Business. Teraz, w menu ustawień ma pojawić się nowa sekcja „Lista kont”, a także dedykowany przycisk obok kodu QR.

Testowa wersja nowej aplikacji pozwala na dodanie i płynne przełączanie się między dwoma kontami. Można dodać zupełnie nowy numer lub podpiąć istniejące konto z innego telefonu (jako urządzenie towarzyszące) poprzez zeskanowanie kodu QR.

Pełna separacja ustawień

Co kluczowe, Meta zadbała o prywatność i porządek. Każde z kont będzie miało osobny zestaw ustawień. Oznacza to niezależną historię czatów, osobne kopie zapasowe w iCloud oraz różne dźwięki powiadomień.

Również same powiadomienia na ekranie blokady będą wyraźnie oznaczone, aby użytkownik od razu wiedział, na który numer przyszła wiadomość.

Na razie nie ma oficjalnej daty premiery dla wszystkich, ale obecność funkcji w publicznej becie sugeruje, że aktualizacja trafi do App Store już niebawem.

Mamy 2024 rok, dual sim jest standardem od dawien dawna, a Android (tym razem w wersji 15) nadal kurwa nie ogarnia tego 🤦🏻‍♂️ Jeszcze dobre 5 lat temu dialer od OnePlusa pozwalał na masowe zaznaczenie kontaktów i przypisanie konkretnej karty SIM do wykonywania połączeń i do SMSów, ale odkąd przeszli na dialer od G, wszystko szlag trafił.
Mając konta - prywatne i służone - z różną listą kontaktów, G oczekuje, że będę indywidualnie wchodził w każdy kontakt i wybierał dla niego domyślny SIM, bo system pozwala jedynie na 3 opcje - SIM 1, SIM 2, zawsze pytaj 🤬

@graves501 I know! 🫣️ I was just totally hypnotized with the Gigaset back then. Reasonably priced, more or less #green and #fair, with #dualsim, #replaceable #battery and even a #headphonejack. It just ticked all my boxes back then. And I think I plain forgot to think about the operating system for a moment and now "I have the salad". 😜️ But, ไม่เป็นไร (it's ok). 🤓️ My next phone will have to be a #linuxphone though. I'll just hold out till then, I guess. 😝️

@MikaKpk @Fairphone Also even if #fairphone wanted #eSIM so badly they could've put it on a #NanoSIM-Card and provided an #App to use it as an option so people get both real #DualSIM and #eSIM.

Or better yet: Offer the #eSIM as #NanoSIM-Card in their Shop as Accessory just like their chargers and cables, which would also save the envoirment!

Argh... HELP! Is there really no way to **quickly** switch/toggle which #dualsim sim card is used for mobile data connection on #Android 13/#LineageOS? Quick Settings Tile, Shell Command, App Intent/Activity, anything? Anybody? 🥺

The few apps I found are crap/spyware/outdated als aways or for calls only. 😔

I live in Germany, I need to switch networks at every second train stop... 🙄

I wished @Fairphone hadn't #downgrade|d the #FP4 with neither real #DualSIM [could've that #eSIM on a seperate #NanoSIM card!] nor a #HeadphoneJack [nor some smol adaptor that snugly fits in the bottom of the device to provide both #TRRS #Headset + #USB-C Data & Charging at the same time!

@bradlinder sadly, @postmarketOS doesn't support my #Fairphone3plus and @Fairphone kinda #downgraded the #FP4 with having no real #DualSIM but decided to put a non-replaceable #eSIM into it [why they didn't put that into a #NanoSIM card is beyond me!]...

@MagicLike @Fairphone I explicitly chose to buy the #Fairphone3plus instead of the #Fairphone4 because not only do I want real #DualSIM but I want and need that #HeadphoneJack...

If they had a real #DualSIM [and put the #eSIM on a #NanoSIM card!] as well as included a direct adaptor to do USB-C + Headphone jack in the box I would've likely chosen otherwise:

Did some more research and comparisons today into a new #mobilePhone after seeing the 8GB model of the #Xiaomi #RedmiNote11Pro5G on second-hand marketplace #FINN for about the same price as the #RedmiNote10Pro.
Unfortunately it looks like the camera chipset isn't as good as the 10 Pro's, and doesn't even support 1080p60 or 4K (though perhaps a #GCam port could solve that?) and has dodgy or no electronic image stabilisation.
It also looks like they went from a #dualSIM + individual SD slot on the 10 Pro, to a dualSIM/SD hybrid slot setup on the 11 Pro 5G instead, which is kinda disappointing.
The overall chipset seems to be a bit more powerful with better benchmark scores though and slightly better battery life...

One of the comments on Reddit described it a bit as follows:

"The 10 Pro is the best among the three. The successor of the 10 Pro is the 11 Pro+ 5G ('plus', not to be confused with the budget version which is the 11 Pro 5G)
Below the 11 Pro 5G is the 11 Pro. The 11 Pro is the successor of the 10S while the 11S is a budget version of the 11 Pro."

So, I guess my current pick from these #mobilePhones would be the #Redmi #Note10Pro then... but it's also not quite giving me that 'I want you' feeling.

I guess I can stretch the phone a bit longer and hope something better pops up, but I do kinda need something better before the temperatures drop, as the current battery does not hold a charge at all in cold temps... Like, it can drop from 50% to 0 in a matter of minutes.

#Android11 #DualSIM "Calls preference": there are only 3 options to choose from: SIM 1, 2 or "ask every time".

I'd love to have "ask once per contract and remember my choice until I change it in the contact details".

Why is there no such option? I really need to choose every single time I call someone although the contact details do feature a preferred SIM per contract setting. 🤷‍♂️
