Ich nutze den Signal-Fork Molly und habe ein Problem:
Gestern Abend ging eine Nachricht an eine Person nicht raus, andere gingen aber. Heute Morgen gingen gar keine Nachrichten mehr raus, empfangen konnte ich aber noch. Ich hab alles getestet, aber nichts hat geholfen. Also hab ich beschlossen, die App zu deinstallieren. Nun will ich das Backup wiederherstellen, aber es enthält "fehlerhafte Daten". Und das betrifft ALLE vier Backups, die ich habe, von unterschiedlichen Tagen! 🫣
Die Backup-Grösse beträgt 3,44 GB, was doch eigentlich kein Problem sein sollte, oder?Kennt das jemand und kann helfen? 🤞

Das tut mir leid zu hören.Bei mir geht halt zum Einen die Verbindung zum WLAN nicht mehr. Bei einem Verbindungsversuch springt es zwischen 5 GHz und 2,4 GHz hin und her. Zudem hat sich die Verschlüsselung zu WPA/WPA2 geändert. Das ohne meinen Eingriff über Nacht.
Das sich nun keine neuen Apps installieren lassen nervt nur. Gemeinsam mit den Problemen der Benachrichtigungen wird mir die Einschränkung einfach zu groß.
KDE mit meinem Linux kann ich nun auch nicht mehr nutzen, nur weil mein #FP5 über Nacht mein WLAN nicht mehr will.Aber eigentlich will ich nicht all die #Tracker der #Bahn #TooGoodToGo und all der anderen Apps freien Lauf lassen. Das Nervt so richtig... nicht mehr Herr meiner Daten zu sein.

@chewie By using Signal-FOSS or Molly-FOSS you just force the Signal app to use its WebSockets-based notification fallback mechanism. But if you have Play services installed and have granted them network permissions, you might as well just use FCM for notifications. It saves battery life compared to each app maintaining its own background network connection.
If you're using @mollyim you also have a third option for receiving notifications: @unifiedpush
But since Signal doesn't support it natively, you need a mollysocket server that receives the Signal notifications and translates them into UnifiedPush format. The mollysocket server is connected to your Signal account as a linked device, but it does not have your decryption keys. There are public instances of mollysocket like
mollysocket.adminforge.deThe easiest and best way to get started with UnifiedPush (IMO) is the recently released Sunup distributor app.

Hmm mouai bon en fait je vois pas l'utilité de MollySocket puisque c'est pas un serveur UnifiedPush si j'ai bien compris, ça sert juste a soit squatter le serveur de notif Signal soit un serveur UnifiedPush, donc autant rester via XMPP (prosody qui fait serveur UnifiedPush) et distribuer le tout avec Conversations/Monocle.

According to legend, there was a widow living in Ireland in the 1840s named Molly Maguire,
who hated the landlords who were abusing the poor tenant farmers.She supposedly carried a pistol strapped to each thigh.
She, or her followers, would beat or murder the tyrannical landlords, their agents, and bailiffs, whenever they tried to evict a tenant.
No one knows if she ever really existed, but other tenant farmer activists were said to cry out,
