Here’s a thought Masto people: before you post your personal little gripe at someone who would otherwise be an ally, how about using a small amount of brain power and empathy to consider whether it achieves any end that you actually desire. Or is this just a bit of self indulgent wankery which actually just makes people think - what a total tosser?

Ahora que estoy de vacaciones y tengo tiempo para reflexionar, me estoy dando cuenta que mi trabajo ha sido una grandísima 💩 los últimos meses con la IA. Ya no programo nada, y no se puede llamar diseñar a escribir prompts. Construir herramientas que usan IA usando la propia IA, o que validan con una IA lo que hace otra IA es lamentable.

¿Dónde está el viaje de aprendizaje de pasarse una semana dando martillazos al código, dándote de leches contra un muro y frustrarte porque nada funciona? Aprender a probar cosas nuevas, al pensamiento lateral, o incluso pedir ayuda o sencillamente inspiración a compañeros y no a una máquina.

La churrera funciona más rápido, pero ningún humano revisa nada y tras corregir los errores de lo que genera tampoco se gana tanto tiempo al final.

Aparte de las 4 empresas que ofrecen modelos e infraestructura para LLMs, no sé quién gana con esto. Porque yo tengo claro que estoy perdiendo y mi profesión se está volviendo más miserable.

Bloody frustrated this afternoon… so at the end of the year, there's apparently a concert to take place at Roma Street. Suzi Quatro headlining, along with Rose Tattoo, Baby Animals and Dragon.

Decent line-up. I've seen Dragon live once before, but not the others. Location is handy, the 380 bus stops near the Normanby Hotel, a short walk away.

Ticketmaster is handling it… no problems, I have an account with them, created back in 2023.

I go to the site, click through for general admission, order two tickets, get to the log-in form… paste my username in… *bam* "We detect suspicious activity, have a 10 minute time-out!". Apparently this is to give everyone a "fair go".

I wait the time-out, and start over… only to hit the same thing again.

After some perseverance I get as far as "we want you to reset your password". Clearly NIST special publication 800-63B Revision 4 is news to these guys. Okay, send me a SMS code… I enter it, it asks for my new password… I give it one, *whallop*, back to the same block screen again.

I gave it one more shot and got exactly to the same place, the same block screen.

I f'ing give up. Seriously, if you don't want people buying tickets, don't advertise them. I understand they've had challenges with automated bots scalping tickets… but if they honestly want a reliable way to avoid this: open a physical ticket booth and we'll go there in person! Humans are much better at detecting other humans than any computer has ever been.

I should know better than to work on #Power Equipment when already annoyed. I'm replacing the carburetor on a 34 y.o. Snapper mower (love this machine). Fairly simple, right? But I can't quite access the 2 bolts holding it in place. Maybe remove the gas tank for easier access, nah..missing something, it won't budge. After sweating profusely and cursing up a storm, I decided to walk away and try again another day. #HomeOwnership #garage #SmallEngineRepair #Aggrivation #Rant

Hoy de mañana aparecieron dos perros (la semana pasada habian aparecido otras dos perras pero tenian dueño y se las llevamos, estaban a más de 3km de su casa, se habian perdido por el temporal y ni publique sobre ellas), pero estas de hoy no las pudimos agarrar y fue angustioso, no sabemos que fue de ellas ni si las habrán atropellado. A propósito de todo el tema, mi cuñada nos mandó una captura que le mandaron de la protectora de animales en Mercedes con mensajes de gente que tiene perros y se los quiere nacar de encima. Las protectoras estan para rescatar perros huérfanos, que nacen en la calle, que por alguna razón se perdieron, estan muy lejos de sus casas y fueron lastimados, etc. No estan para recibir perros de gente que los tuvo del principio y los crió en familia, no se como te dá el rostro para abandonar asi una mascota, ni la gente en situacion de calle abandona asi a las mascotas, esta gente me indigna mucho. One of my boxing coaches bought a brand new notebook, complains it is too slow, I check out the model specs and it seems fine. I ask him for a few ss of the system specs on windows: less ram than it was supposed to have and the SSD got replaced with an HDD.

Dear lord, I hate this timeline.

I want to build a launcher, ultimately for Wayland, though if I can support X11 with it too… fantastic, there are plenty of X11 window managers that could benefit from something that reads FreeDesktop.org .menu / .desktop files and builds up a menu tree to navigate.

I'm thinking of building this in C++, since gcc have, for now, said they will decline "legally significant LLM content". So far the only bit I know that has ingested slop there is Fortran.

Years ago, I'd have reached for Qt for this, but they embrace the slop now.
Fine, how about FLTK? Nope, they have inhaled as well.
WxWidgets? Just checked their Github page… "A user you have blocked has contributed" (claude).
Tk? Wayland is a work-in-progress. X11 only for now.
Motif? Does anyone use that in 2026?

GTK+ *looks* clean so far… but then again, I said that about wxWidgets a month back … and I utterly detest dealing with GTK… but that might be my only viable option.

I struggle with my posture because of my height (had a couple injuries already). Yet, fixing it is easier than people say. The problem is, when walking properly I look feminine and being trans in #Venezuela is not safe. So my walking is healthy when I'm pretty much alone. 🫠
