Seriously, how is it possible that all of the sudden, for the last couple days, I'm suddenly getting double spaces all over the place when typing up an email in Outlook? It does not seem to be happening in any other app that I've noticed, so I don't think it's a me or keyboard issue.
I really really do not enjoy having to use Microsoft products.

LaTeX is amazing and I wish more people knew about it, and how terrible Word is. It's like people not knowing cake exists, and insisting they would rather eat moldy stale bread. Hat tip @acollierastro

Alrighty then. Very old #MacBook has been taken offline with a big sticky note attached to remind me why. I'm pretty sure the version of #MicrosoftSucks Office is too old to be affected, but I'm not taking any chances. And yeah, time to switch back to #OpenOffice and maybe someday do a #LinuxInstall on some of my old-but-still-working computers.

@SimonCHulse So, I have a very old Macbook that has a fully loaded version of PowerPoint installed (that still works). I keep that Macbook offline, and use USBs or external harddrives to transfer files. As to whether that technique will work on Microsoft Office 2019 and 2021 is unknown. I would suggest that folks turn back the clock and keep those old Macs offline if possible...

@SimonCHulse So, would keeping an old Mac offline or changing the clock (and keeping it offline) bypass this? Or do we all find out next month.

En nu ook weer Veracrypt de nek omdraaien. Ik heb Office 2019 en Visio gekocht om geen cloud-gezeik te hebben. Visio werkt nu niet meer als ik niet ingelogd ben op een Microsoft account. Ik ben zó vréselijk klaar met Microsoft...

Pour être sûr qu'on utilise tous #Edge, à défaut de nous en interdire l'utilisation, on ne peut plus synchroniser un compte, ni enregistrer des mots de passe sur #Firefox...
🤮Déjà que je détestais #Win11. Je devrais célébrer le nouveau PC plus puissant, mais non : envie de tout cramer !

#Outlook lancera automatiquement #Copilot pour ouvrir les liens #HTML. En effet, dans une fonctionnalité en cours de développement, Microsoft prévoit d'ouvrir automatiquement son assistant #IA Copilot dans le navigateur #Edge depuis un lien Outlook. L'éditeur ne dit pas si cette fonction sera optionnelle ou pas.

#Windows 11 : la chienlit de 2025
Que se passe-t-il en ce moment avec #Windows11 ? Depuis quelques mois, #Microsoft semble accumuler les boulettes, dans une avalanche de problèmes techniques, alors même que #Windows10 n’a plus de support. Les annonces sur l'#IA et la montée en puissance de #Linux sur les jeux n'arrangent pas la situation.

Willkommen bei #linux
Ich selbst saß einige Zeit hinter Gefängnismauern, machte 2007 meinen ersten EDV-Kurs. Der wurde von der IHK angeboten und ausschließlich auf Microsoft ausgerichtet. Als ich im August 2023 entlassen wurde, bekam ich zwar von Freund:innen einen Linux-Rechner, war aber überfordert, mich darin auch noch einzuarbeiten (hatte ich doch eben erst auch noch das Smartphone-Universum betreten: das aber gleich mit #grapheneos 😍).
Diesen Herbst jedoch schaffte ich es endlich- und der 'Entzug' dauerte nur wenige Tage. Mit #debian bin ich glücklich. Nichts gegen KI, aber das aufgezwungen zu bekommen, in den eigenen Entscheidungsmöglichkeiten eingeengt zu werden, das ist ein no go. Auch wenn es für viele vermutlich verführerisch bequem sein dürfte.

#Microsoft vient encore de frapper un grand coup à base de “on vous a pas demandé votre avis mais c’est activé par défaut”. En effet, la firme de #Redmond déploie actuellement une fonctionnalité de #ReconnaissanceFaciale basée sur l’#IA dans #OneDrive.

Oui, vous pouvez désactiver cette fonction ! Sauf que vous ne pouvez le faire que 3 fois par an ! (..) Donc si vous désactivez, puis réactivez, puis désactivez à nouveau ce paramètre, vous êtes bloqué jusqu’à l’année suivante.Pour le moment, cette fonctionnalité est en test.

I avoid Microsoft at all costs, but for work reasons have to deal with Win 11... which now stashes ALL your files on OneDrive, which means if it can't get to the Internet, or there's some login snafu, or whatever... no files! The most annoying OS ever. (all my personal stuff is Linux now). #MicrosoftSucks
