Reminder that #busdrivers appreciate a #greeting going in and out. They drive everyone around all day so you can jump on and get out. Some small acknowledgement they aren't robots but #people working hard for you isn't a bad thing.

Don't have a fare.
Make it free to ride. Just pay for the whole thing with taxes. (Congestion pricing would help with that, and fuck Gov. Hochul.)

We give six prizes: First, Second, and Third place, Fastest Time, Best Wheelchair Securement Score, and Rookie of the Year for drivers competing for the first time. Same first-place winner as last year (his fifth, and he's going for ten), but it was sweet seeing our Rookie of the Year, a young driver from Howard County, also winning Second Place. It was heartwarming to see him so happy and proud, and his coworkers all cheering for him. He takes his job seriously and it gives me joy to know there are public transit drivers out there like him. Our Best Wheelchair Securement winner was a sweet lady who got a PERFECT score and they tell me she's known in her agency as the best one for dealing with people in mobility devices.
Met folks from all around the state, and I do seem to attract the western MD folks around me. But now? I'm a wreck. A WRECK. Don't bug me for a while.
