Hey there #RoadSafety & #TrafficSignals brain trust:
The NE leg of this intersection has a signalized #crosswalk w/ beg button. Town staff just converted it to rest-in-walk, which is lovely. But there's a permissive yellow that allows drivers from the arterial to turn left while the #walk sign is active.
We may have the option to* either*:
* keep the rest-in-walk
or
* eliminate the permissive yellow but lose the rest-in-walkWWYD?

[quote]
For those unaware, the Chapel Hill Town Council recently voted 8-1 to overturn its 2013 Comprehensive Parks Plan and build housing on a prime section of the former American Legion property. This would require removal or drastic downsizing of Legion pond, a central feature of any proposed community park. A petition to oppose this development drew over 1000 signatures from across the town and beyond, but to no avail. However, the fight goes on to preserve this lone green space dwarfed by the many new luxury apartments in the area. To this end, a talented park supporter has created these videos to show what will be lost - forever.

Our infatuation with #driving has made it nearly impossible for #kids to #walk or #bike to #school safely. And our steadfast refusal to admit that #CovidIsNotOver means school districts finding themselves without enough healthy #BusDrivers to keep school buses running.
