We did a little biology survey at our landcare site this morning, and put our findings up on NatureMap (photos and species info). Several other sites around CBR are doing the same through October. Trying to demonstrate the benefits of native planting/rehabilitation in an urban setting.
We marked out 100 metres of (our) native plantings and noted all insects, birds, and other animals, while another team did the same along 100m of nearby land which had not been rehabilitated. We'll do it all again next week, but the 2 teams will swap locations, as a control.
We noticed today that there was slightly more variety in the native plantings. Unfortunately it was a bit chilly, so results may differ from next week which should be warmer. #volunteering #landcare #biology

I have realised I’ve left my dolphin necklace behind in the bathroom, the one I wear daily, the one I’ve been wearing for over 40yrs. At least I know exactly where it is & sent a msg to the homeowners. I’ll grab it over the weekend.
It is a beautiful day outside albeit a little chilly, but it’s so nice watching the birds again flitting around my garden. Which reminds me to make up some fruit fly bait today or tomorrow for my little peach tree.

My last dinner in my at my sit. I have a curried chicken pie in the oven that I’ve topped with a couple of teaspoons full of cooked tomato & zucchini with a slice of cheese on top of that. I just wish I had some of my Mingle tomato sauce to have it with 🤷🏼♀️. It’ll taste good anyway - hopefully🤞🏼😂.
