OK this looks pretty nice! I'm particularly excited about the floating composer window, it looks like it's going to open up a lot more space for writing, and I'm hoping it might even address the problem I have on mobile where when I'm writing a reply I can't see the toot I'm replying to. And the changes to visibility settings seem like a good clarity boost. I definitely appreciate how much thought they're putting into this new design.

:fediverse: coloured pentagram: interconnected nodes with diversity included by default, just like Fediverse servers.
⁂ asterism: three disconnected identical silos shielding themselves with hedgehogs' spines, just like Twitter, TikTok and Instagram.

holy moly, the amount of actually swearing aggressive people responding to the mastodon post is genuinely saddening.
wtf do people want, turn this into some salty twitter pretzel? why is it so hard for people to give gentle constructive feedback that isn't laden with rage? it makes people look like a bunch of spoiled children ngl, and for what reason?
some people really need to go touch or smoke some grass before responding.
