A warmer weekend and next week is expected. Cold sea surface and inland water temperatures this weekend could make lake/ocean recreation dangerous. Next week temperatures get even warmer, with some 90F readings possible in southern NH on Tuesday. Thunderstorms, some potentially strong are possible in the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday as two frontal boundaries push through the region from the north.

Stronger north winds will continue into this weekend. On Sunday, the focus of winds will shift to the eastern side of the area. At the same time, drier air moving in will drop RH below 20 percent. Dry air combined with the winds will create enhanced fire weather conditions Sunday into Monday. File fuels and grasses remain relatively green, however, which will limit the high end of fire potential.

Northerly winds will strengthen through the weekend, peaking Saturday with gusts up to around 40 mph. Locally higher gusts are possible. A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued for bayshore locations along San Pablo Bay from 10 PM Saturday through 3 AM Tuesday.

What to expect:

Up to 1.0 foot of saltwater inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.
