  1. Vance #Boelter, who shot Democratic Minnesota state representative Melissa #Hortman and her husband, Mark #Hortman, on June 14, 2025,
studied at "Christ for the Nations Institute" in Dallas.

The group is a Bible school linked to the New Apostolic Reformation, or NAR.

The NAR is a loosely organized but influential charismatic Christian movement that shares similarities with Pentecostalism -- especially in its belief that God actively communicates with believers through the Holy Spirit.

Unlike traditional Pentecostalism, however, the organization emphasizes modern-day apostles and prophets as
💥authoritative leaders tasked with transforming society and ushering in God’s kingdom on Earth.

Prayer, prophecy and worship are defined not only as acts of devotion but as strategic tools for advancing believers’ vision of government and society.

After the shooting, the "Christ for the Nations Institute" issued a statement “unequivocally” denouncing “any and all forms of violence and extremism.”

It stated: “Our organization’s mission is to educate and equip students to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through compassion, love, prayer, service, worship, and value for human life.”

But the shooting has drawn attention to the school and the larger Christian movement it belongs to.

One of the most important aspects of NAR teachings today is what is called
    “the Seven Mountain Mandate.”
🔥The Seven Mountain Mandate calls on Christians to gain influence, or “take dominion,” over seven key areas of culture:
religion, family, education, government, media, business and the arts.

The Seven Mountains concept was originally proposed in 1975
    by evangelical leader Bill #Bright,
the founder of "Campus Crusade for Christ".

Now known as “Cru,” the "Campus Crusade for Christ" was founded as a global ministry in 1951 to promote Christian evangelism,
    especially on college campuses.

United by a shared vision to influence society through Christian values,
Bright partnered with Loren #Cunningham, the founder of "Youth With A Mission",
a major international missionary training and outreach organization,
    in the 1970s.

The Seven Mountains Mandate was popularized by theologian Francis #Schaeffer,
who linked it to a larger critique of secularism and liberal culture. Over time, it evolved.

    C. Peter #Wagner, a former seminary professor who helped organize and name the New Apostolic Reformation,
is often regarded as the theological architect of the group.

He developed it into a call for dominion.

In his 2008 book “Dominion! How Kingdom Action Can Change the World,”
he urged Christians to take authoritative control of cultural institutions.

For Wagner, “dominion theology” – the idea that Christians should have control over all aspects of society – was a call to spiritual warfare, so that God’s kingdom would be “manifested here on earth as it is in heaven.”

  2. Republican vice presidential nominee JD #Vance really does love to run his mouth on podcasts.

The latest unearthed audio has him agreeing with a conservative podcast host on what women are for once we hit #menopause:
🔸Helping to raise children is “the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female.”
    🔸The whole purpose.

Vance has opinions about many different kinds of women.

🔸Those who don’t have kids are “#childless #cat #ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too”
🔸and #lack “a direct stake in the future of the country.”

🔸Women who care about their #work and plan their families are #suckers:
“If your worldview tells you that it’s bad for women to become mothers but liberating for them to work 90 hours a week in a cubicle at the New York Times or Goldman Sachs, you’ve been had,”
he tweeted after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

🔸#Step mothers (and step parents generally), he has suggested, are 🔸not real parents.

We have not yet heard his views on the purpose of pre-pubescent girls, but he has said that he believes 🔸even #raped and impregnated children should be forced to give birth,
even though their circumstances are “#inconvenient
    — and Ohio, the state he represents as a US senator, has done just that,
notoriously refusing to allow a ten-year-old rape victim to end her pregnancy
(she had to travel out of state,
👉at which point Republicans targeted the doctor who helped her).

  8. Vance declaring war on Europe by interfering in elections, just so MAGA corruption and racketeering can bankrupt the U.S.? MAGE’s fascist cults won’t stop until their #AiApocalypse is reigned in! #EmpireIsHydra #Ecocide #FailedEmpires #HydraDestroysWorlds #TheFederation

  12. Liz Truss visited the Queen, who died, and endorsed Donald Trump in a move so unpopular she lost her Tory heartland seat in 2024.

JD Vance visited the Pope, who died, and endorsed Viktor Orbán who was promptly defeated by a landslide in 2026.

What would happen if #Truss & #Vance met and endorsed each other?!

  13. #Vance sits somewhere in between these two tendencies
—at 37, he’s a 🔸venture capitalist who is young enough to be exposed to the dissident online currents.

But he’s also 🔸shaped by the most deeply traditionalist thinking of the American right.

    He is friends with #Yarvin,
whom he openly cites as a political influence,
    and with #Dreher,
who was there when Vance was baptized into the Catholic Church in 2019.

I’d been writing about #militias and right-wing stirrings in the #rural #West for years,
but I didn’t really understand how this alchemy worked until I first met him last July.

I’d gone back to Ohio to see my uncle, who was dying of cancer.

Vance and I both grew up around Cincinnati,
    immersed in a culture of
white rural migrants who had come from coalfields and farm towns
to look for work in the cities of the Midwest.

We had met as a kind of experiment
—I was going to be in town anyway,
and because my uncle was sick,
I was thinking a lot about the place and what it meant to me.

On a whim, I asked an editor at a conservative magazine if I could write something from the perspective of a skeptical leftist.

Vance suggested that we meet at a diner where my dad had often taken me as a kid.

He was barely registering in the polls at the time.

    Vance believes that a
🔹well-educated and culturally liberal American elite
    has greatly benefited from globalization,
    the financialization of our economy,
and the growing power of big tech.

    This has led an
🔹Ivy League intellectual and management class
    —a quasi-aristocracy he calls
    “the regime”
—to adopt a set of economic and cultural interests that directly oppose those of people in places like Middletown, Ohio, where he grew up.

In the Vancian view, this class has no stake in what people on the New Right often call the “real economy”
—the farm and factory jobs that once sustained middle-class life in Middle America.

This is a fundamental difference between New Right figures like Vance and the Reaganite right-wingers of their parents’ generation.

To Vance—and he’s said this—culture war is class warfare.

Vance recently told an interviewer, “I gotta be honest with you,
🔸I don’t really care what happens to Ukraine,” 🔸
a flick at the fact that he thinks the American-led global order is as much about enriching defense contractors and think-tank types as it is about defending America’s interests.

“I do care about the fact that in my community right now
the leading cause of death among 18- to 45-year-olds
    is Mexican fentanyl.”

His criticisms of big tech as “enemies of Western civilization”
often get lost in the run of Republican outrage over Trump being kicked off Twitter and Facebook,
though they go much deeper than this.

Vance believes that the regime has sold an illusive story that consumer gadgets and social media are constantly making our lives better,

even as wages stagnate and technology feeds an epidemic of depression.
