#Bernardi is first and foremost a #Libertarian and if you know anything about people who push this extreme idealism you’ll know how dangerous they are. At their worst, they are the kind of people who just want to do what they want to do without any legal interference, live the way they wish to without regards for any other. They would create a kind of anarchy, less government oversight, less legal restrictions and fully free to express themselves. They want the rights they have given away to live in society, as J.J. Rousseau described us before societies were created.Dig into Bernardi’s past political/public life and you’ll know. Not a nice human. I’ll make no bones about it, I do not like him at all. He is dangerous and would destroy Social Democracy if he could.

@light I understand freedom as having more opportunities or options inspired by Daniel McKay’s freedom consequentialism. Notably, this understanding of freedom diverges from right #libertarian conception as having more money increases your freedom in this sense.
I use a David Ellerman’s inalienable rights framework to determine what options or opportunities belong to a person. Inalienable rights are rights that non-transferable even with consent. See:

The primary reason #trump is getting away with the war with #Iran is because of the total failure of #congress to assert its constitutional power over the declaration of war coupled with the #AUMF.
It was a bad thing when #biden used it.
It was a bad thing when #obama used it.
Of course, very few people were outspoken about how bad it is when they used it AND when trump used it.
SOME people were. Largely? #libertarian people.
