  7. A quotation from Samuel Johnson

Yet it is certain, likewise, that many of our miseries are merely comparative: we are often made unhappy, not by the presence of any real evil, but by the absence of some fictitious good; of something which is not required by any real want of nature, which has not in itself any power of gratification, and which neither reason nor fancy would have prompted us to wish, did we not see it in the possession of others.

Samuel Johnson (1709-1784) English writer, lexicographer, critic
Essay (1753-11-27), The Adventurer, No. 111

  12. Republican vice presidential nominee JD #Vance really does love to run his mouth on podcasts.

The latest unearthed audio has him agreeing with a conservative podcast host on what women are for once we hit #menopause:
🔸Helping to raise children is “the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female.”
    🔸The whole purpose.

Vance has opinions about many different kinds of women.

🔸Those who don’t have kids are “#childless #cat #ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too”
🔸and #lack “a direct stake in the future of the country.”

🔸Women who care about their #work and plan their families are #suckers:
“If your worldview tells you that it’s bad for women to become mothers but liberating for them to work 90 hours a week in a cubicle at the New York Times or Goldman Sachs, you’ve been had,”
he tweeted after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

🔸#Step mothers (and step parents generally), he has suggested, are 🔸not real parents.

We have not yet heard his views on the purpose of pre-pubescent girls, but he has said that he believes 🔸even #raped and impregnated children should be forced to give birth,
even though their circumstances are “#inconvenient
    — and Ohio, the state he represents as a US senator, has done just that,
notoriously refusing to allow a ten-year-old rape victim to end her pregnancy
(she had to travel out of state,
👉at which point Republicans targeted the doctor who helped her).

  13. Money triggers your feeling of lack within yourself. This can look like abandonment, powerlessness, not good enough, and so on. It can look like all the wounds.

It triggers your wound because it creates a fear of what happens if you don't have it or there is not enough of it. Well guess what? That's a reflection of that wound you have within yourself that says the same thing.

When you heal the wound within yourself, then the money is just money. It stops having control over you because it's no longer triggering the wound. That allows some space so that you can deal with the money issues more rationally and logically. It takes the emotion out of money.

Because money triggers the wound and the feeling of lack within you, when you try to work with other people on money issues, your wounds are at the surface. Guess what that does to your interaction with that other person? It makes it wonky because it triggers all the behaviors you have to protect the wound you carry. When you try to deal with money issues using wounded coping mechanisms, you will struggle to handle the issues.

Money doesn't solve the issue. It covers it up. The issue is whatever the wound is you carry around. That wound doesn't have a whole lot to do with money, but money certainly triggers the wound.

You get to make the choice of how to handle that. You may or may not be able to fix your outside circumstances but you can definitely heal the wound so that the outside circumstances aren't so important.

    Love to all.
