Great misty day up on Tryfan, #Eryri. Out at breakfast, down by lunch.

The BBC is a censor.
In the week of Wales' most important cultural event, the National Eisteddfod, the BBC has refused to screen colours, badges messages or mention of Gaza.
Yesterday, they completely refused to cover the second ever Welsh Islamic service, all about peace, peace and peace again.
The BBC is complicit not only in ignoring genocide but also English censorship of Welsh culture.
Independent outlets covered the message of peace, peacefully.

Continuity: Castell Bryngwyn, Anglesey began life as a Neolithic henge monument (~2000BCE). In later prehistoric times, it became a defended enclosure, probably of a settlement. Pottery finds shows it was used at least as long as the 1st century CE.
The area has numerous prehistoric structures and is still poorly understood in total.

If the authorities want people to take more heed of storm conditions, they have to not only better inform but *reliably* inform.
Exaggerated claims only lead to the opposite of what is being attempted.
The warnings about 70mph gusts for Anglesey were always a bit suspect for Claudia - and were not realised; they barely exceeded 50mph.

Here comes the next dump of aerial water...

If you drink #water from reservoirs, it is very likely that those reservoirs will be populated by regular summer blooms (though they can last into early winter) of cyanobacteria - 'blue-green algae' as they are commonly but wrongly known.
Cyanobacteria produce #BMAA, a neurotoxin linked to neurodegenerative diseases. Water companies invariably do not test for it. Which begs the question: why aren't water companies forced to test for BMAA?
The next health scandal?

Some of the longest virga formations I've ever seen this afternoon.
This is an essentially 180 degree stitch:

A local council wanted my identification papers to respond to a SAR this week.
'Just send it in an email to us', they bleated.
Er, no, said I. It's not encrypted and a severe security risk. I won't do it.
'Oh, if you send a password in a separate email, we can do it that way'.
Er. Thanks, but I'll bring them in in person.
Little wonder Russia and our other enemies find it so easy to attack UK IT systems.

Local authorities: they are your enemy, to the point where they will even risk presenting fictitious, apparently AI-generated legal cases to try and 'win'.

Help needed from Tudor period experts, please!
I found this, likely copper disc with what seems to be a Tudor rose motif. It seems to be an inscribed pattern, but may not be. The reverse is blank.
Nobody I've shown it to seems to have a clue what it may be. Notably, none of them have clicked that it was found 950m from the home of the Tudors of Penmynydd, Anglesey and may be related to that site.
Informed ideas welcome!

The latest Council Tax bill just dropped through the letterboxes of countless people across Anglesey today.
The cost? £2227 for the year. £42 per week. For a rabbit hutch bungalow.
A fundamentally regressive tax that no party ever wants to make fairer.

Much BBC Cumbria clickbait excitement at the mountains of Eryri in Wales being photographed from Cumbria.
I guess I should have told them I can see Cumbria from north Anglesey on many days in a year, especially in winter.
This is from 2016, when backlighting made Cumbria especially clear from Mynydd Parys (200mm lens):

Noctilucent ('space') cloud season will be with us in about two weeks' time.
If you're new to observing, or want to know about the science behind NLC, you can find my book at Amazon, worldwide:

Only a month to go until noctilucent clouds (also popularly known as 'space clouds') appear in our northern hemisphere skies once more.

Lovely line convection over Anglesey, giving rise to intense winds, heavy hail and lots of cloud-cloud lightning.

It's odd that journalists are variously expressing surprise and obtaining scoops about Nathan Gill's links to Russia.
Nation.Cymru broke this story in, er, 2023, apparently to almost no interest from other news outlets:

Gill, once a 'bishop' in the local Mormons, was always in the news, not least for his merry use of many foreign workers in his family business:
