  1. Stations have to file their political ad orders with the FCC, and those filings are public. AZ Follow the Money pulls the ones from 26 Arizona broadcast stations into a single searchable ledger for the 2026 cycle.

Search by committee or station, sort by dollars or flight date, and every row links back to the source FCC document. Built by one person from public records.

“Senior Reform UK figures, including Nigel Farage, have been filmed in an undercover investigation examining ways in which money originating from a seemingly wealthy American donor could benefit the party without its source appearing in public records, Channel 4 News revealed last night”

  3. @USpol #AIPAC #DarkMoney #AllIn #ChrisHayes

    Hold that phone, Leroy. Woah.
It's that segment Chris Hayes covered just now about dishonesty in PAC political ads, but making the point that PACs that are against a particular candidate winning will not use the cause that they're organized for but use instead public issues they're convinced that the voters are dead set against and then accuse, falsely, that the target candidate is guilty of that instead.

I don't see how THAT is anything new, but what's new is the Democrat-on-Democrat verbal violence, so to speak--the AIPAC Wasserman-Schultz wing of the Party vs the Democratic Socialist wing....except in AIPAC's case, well, they target any candidate who even wants to put guardrails around any aid that the US gives to Israel. And yeah, they will NOT say that's WHY they have targeted the candidate; they won't make that case but they'll make a side-case like immigration. ICE. And lie about it.
But this is what AIPAC has always done, actually--Hayes is a couple decades late in pointing that out.

Following that segment, the bottom banner of the screen displayed:
"Trump says he doesn't need to campaign for Republicans".

Except that's exactly what he's doing in the gubernatorial run-off primary election in Oklahoma, where there's GOP-on-GOP verbal "violence". Trump has a United Arab Emirates interest in that aluminum smelter proposed for Inola, OK, and that's what the negative ads against the #Trump favorite candidate focus on, and it's the reason why Trump is spending ad money on boosting Mike Mazzey vs Gentner Drummond and Drummond knows that the smelter and ANY foreign ownership of Oklahoma business and/or land will land where the Oklahoma voters live.

It's to be noted that the UAE also sits on the Board of Peace, so if y'all are wondering why any nation in its right mind would pay the big bux to sit on that board, well, wonder no more--odds are good that they've been bribed with such perks as this to do so.

  4. “The central corrupting feature of our politics right now is the power of money to buy politicians
so that government is captured by them,
not for us,” El-Sayed said as he fielded questions from the stage

“AIPAC will spend huge amounts of money if you’re uppity like me and you speak out of turn to beat you,
and you’re seeing it play out on TV every day.”

  9. To me, the most disturbing part is how news outlets keep reporting as if elections are decided by donations rather than votes. Almost like they think we believe every ad we see, so the most ads win.

#AngieCraig’s super PAC donors incl hedge fund founder, #UnitedHealth, & Chevron, but much of funding is unknown (dark money)

#PeggyFlanagan is backed by the DLGA (some questionable donors as well) & Clear Voice Minnesota. “Both super PACs must disclose their donors.” (NOT dark money)

Fellow MN Dems, letting Craig get the nomination would be a mistake and missed opportunity. Primary voting has started.

    [..]

“Little is known about Restore Britain’s funding. The far-right party, seen as a disrupter on Reform UK’s right flank, was only formally registered as a party in February, meaning further donations records will begin to appear in the coming months, should they cross the threshold for declaration.”

  12. New piece on who is actually funding Australia's renewable energy opposition in regional communities.

The climate obstruction playbook has moved on from denial. Delay is cheaper and more durable. You don't need to win the argument. You just need to prevent a decision from being made.

Follow the money, and you don't find a farmer's hat. Gina Rinehart's company donated $4.5 million to the IPA in a single two-year period. Fossil fuel interests donated nearly $4 million to major parties in 2023-24. Australia's $16,900 disclosure threshold keeps most of it invisible for up to 18 months.

The cruellest part: the playbook takes the genuine experience of being exploited by outside interests and weaponises it to defend the exploiters.

  17. #Starmer lied his way to power, with #DarkMoney. He ran a #HierarchyOfRacism in the #LabourParty, purged Jewish members for anti-zionism, binged on #freebies.

    In power, Starmer:
    ^ starved kids
    ^ froze grannies
^ endorsed cutting water to civilians
    ^ shared intelligence with genociders
^ criminalised opponents of #genocide as "terrorist"
    ^ appointed a #paedophile-adjacent ambassador
    ^ restricts #TrialByJury

But now Starmer has the cheek to call #ZackPolanski unfit to lead. 😡 #YCMTSU.

  18. Leonard Leo has spent decades building a well-funded network influencing the U.S. judiciary. As Senator Sheldon Whitehouse states @2:07, "a billionaire dumped on Leonard Leo a $1.6 billion slush fund." He outlines how this ecosystem operates--and why it matters for judicial independence and public trust.

Worth understanding how these relationships shape the courts:

  23. Courtney Gore said she believes a #darkmoney scheme is unfolding:
an effort by wealthy conservative donors to undermine public education in Texas and install a voucher system in which public money flows to private and religious schools.

Gore points to West Texas billionaires Tim #Dunn and brothers Farris and Dan #Wilks,
who have contributed to various political action committees that have poured millions into legislative candidates who have promoted vouchers.

The men also fund or serve on the boards of a host of public policy and advocacy organizations that have led the fight for vouchers in Texas.
