  1. For International Mountain Day, we have one simple request:

What's the best photo you've taken of your favourite mountain? 🤔

For our social media man, Ian, it's this sunrise shot of Tryfan in Eryri on his 40th birthday. No matter what angle, Tryfan just looks stupendous. 🤩

    What about you?

  2. I request some assistance from the mastodon hive mind.
I am staying somewhere with a view of #eryri and I can’t identify all the peaks. I thought I had identified
#MoelHebog and #YrWyddfa, then later on #Tryfan, but the perspective is wrong so now I’m uncertain.
This photo was taken with a bearing of 282 degrees, from #Rhydlydan.
Can anyone identify the peaks, please? Diolch!

  3. Continuing to share favourite images from my 30+ year photographic career, this shows scramblers on the Cannon Stone on the North Ridge of Tryfan, Eryri (Snowdonia). It’s from a magazine assignment—think it was Men’s Health or Men’s Fitness.

  4. Kinda puts amateur radio contesting into context.

A human lifetime, next to 500 million year-old mountains. And that's just their latest journey to the surface.

    But I did make a 2m FM QSO! 😂

  5. Great misty day up on Tryfan, #Eryri. Out at breakfast, down by lunch.

  6. #ThrowbackThursday

That time when I was a cover boy. On the cover of Climber and Rambler magazine.

Jumping from Adam to Eve, the two summit rocks on #Tryfan #Snowdonia #Eryri.

  7. Two natural monoliths at the summit of Tryfan (3,010 ft above sea level) known locally as Sion a Siân (aka Adam and Eve). A fantastic series of photos by HarryTwenty capturing the summer solstice sunrise 2023. The rocks are approx 3m high and 1.2m apart. People who make the jump from one rock to another are said to gain the Freedom of #Tryfan. In Arthurian legend Tryfan is said to be the final resting place of Sir Bedivere (Bedwyr) Summersolstice2023 #Summersolstice #StandingStoneSunday /1 of 2

  8. Mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) taken from Everton Park in Liverpool just after sunset a few weeks ago.

Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is the peak on the left followed by Garnedd Ugain, Glyder Fach, Glyder Fawr, Tryfan, Pen Llithrig y Wrach and Y Garn.

  9. Looking down onto Dyffryn Ogwen across Llyn Ogwen towards Tryfan, Y Glyderau & Cwm Idwal.

It was as bitterly cold to sit here and wait for the light as the conditions suggest. But to be here and look across this landscape was unforgettable.

  10. Revisit, Remember, Relearn iancylkowski.com/blog/2019/8/4

I like to revisit favourite compositions. A large part of this is simply the love of the view itself. But also, it helps me to reconnect, in a way.

  11. The Wizard's Hat of Ogwen iancylkowski.com/blog/2019/6/2

All the weather forecasts today were pointing to a giant thunderstorm arriving at some point in the afternoon so Lisabet and I got up and out first thing, and went to see an old friend: Tryfan.
