100%! I love the main actors in #WelcomeToSamdalRi and I also love #Jeju so it's a very enjoyable watch but the story is far more simplified than most #kdrama. We're able to guess almost every move before it's made and that is not typical. -

Where in #Australia did you live @liztai, and was it urban, suburban, or rural?
The phenomenon @skinnylatte describes is shocking to me; I (an urban white Aussie) would never use "monolingual" for someone who speaks #EnglishAsASecondLanguage, clearly they speak multiple languages.
So I wonder if that does happen in #Australia outside my experience.

I just found out that Liu Xueyi was supposed to have a cameo in A League of Nobleman—as Prince Huai, the Emperor's gay uncle!!! It was cut for the obvious reasons. :(

This is actually a belated post I wanted to make for #MythologyMonday's theme for beaches, as well as something for #PlaylistSEA, and @liztai's posts on dances reminded me.
The dance and the song is called Ulek Mayang (which I suppose can be translated as the Call of the Palm Flowers). It is one of those dances that have more value culturally as a medical treatment - in the culture it's from, dance rituals can be understood through modern lenses as a psych treatment for depression or mood disorders.
The myth that explains this song may provide a clue how: a fisherman was found passed out at the beach (some versions he's merely tired of life for a while). His mates brought him to a spirit healer who could see it's because his spirit was distracted by the charms of the otherworld and had stayed behind at the beach. The only remedy is to call upon the seven bunian princesses and appeal to them for his return. (1/2)
