  12. I've been a fan of radical dub poet #LintonKwesiJohnson since the late 70s, when I first heard #DreadBeatAndBlood so when I saw #TingsAndTimes in the library I thought I'd give it a read. Published in 1991 by the brilliant #BloodaxeBooks it's a collection of 24 poems. Turns out I have 21 of them in my record collection, so I thought I'd put a playlist together and listen whilst I read. Turns out that reading poetry whilst listening to the poet recite is quite a joy. I'll be doing it again.

  14. I sort of knew #HenryNormal before he made a name for himself as a comedy writer for #SteveCoogan #CarolineAherne and others. Not well, but well enough to chat to. He probably won't remember me! I prefer my poetry live, so I can hear all the subtleties and intonations the poet had intended. I always feel my own interpretation to be somewhat flat. Having said that #NudeModelingForTheAfterlife is a lovely collection of poems from 1993. Published by the very excellent #BloodaxeBooks

  17. We went each Sunday for the mass
