In the interests of getting some things to good-enough and moving on, I got some highlights added to the armour; did a simple basing scheme and am calling theee tabletop ready. I went back and re-did the captain’s base to match the others too. Might add some grass but these can be done for now.
I’d lost the assault intercessor when I started so he’s missing, but I’ve found it now so that can go back on the backlog.

Tried a bit of layered sponge stippling to get more of a textured/particulate smoke effect on this one throwing a grenade. I think there’s potential in the technique but I went too dark on the base layer which shows through and the contrast is too high. Also too heavy-handed in places, leaving solid highlights.

After a good initial burst of progress, a sick kid over the weekend has slowed things down somewhat. Incremental progress being made though...

A little progress on Bob (Primaris Sky Claw) led to a good chunk of quick progress on five more of the Strike Force Justian models as Howling Griffons.
The pink trick for yellows works so well for these.

The pink base coat trick for yellow paint works so well. I finally tried it recently on the pauldrons of a couple of Space Wolves, which gave encouragement to finally try a Howling Griffon. Just this really rough first pass already works so well, I can see myself painting up a few now.
