🏒🥅🇨🇦I haven’t watched Oilers this season, until this evening (TO 7-EDM 2). It was strange, to be rooting against the team I’d been supporting in recent years. It didn’t take long to know I’d made the right decision.
The leadership fail that is McDrai was on full display: not playing 200 ft, on-ice for at least 2 goals against. The much-vaunted coaching change looking like it’s made no difference (McDrai line the only scoring line; McD playing bloated TOI; lines 2-3-4 not effective, not having any of the “identity” we were told was one of the previous coach’s failings; blaming goalies for lack of 200-ft play; etc).Plus, the “acquitted rapist” is still on the team.
À recent article asked why Oilers aren’t selling out? Maybe all of the above? Plus that the owner keeps gouging fans with his ticket, beer prices?

2026 hasn’t been a good year for seeing bands. Missed Boy Harsher at The Showbox—I just couldn’t do a Sunday night concert. Regretting that slightly now. "There can't be an AI bubble because people really like the product" is a really dumb sentence. The housing bubble didn't pop because people stopped wanting houses. Market actors oversold product to people who couldn't afford it, then defaulted. And the derivatives built upon those sales and loans defaulted with it.
The AI industry is selling things to people at a discounted price, the true cost of which customers could never afford. It's not about if the bubble is going to pop, but when.
This is not about the usefulness or impact of AI, those are literally unrelated to the issue. It's a financial problem.

Search and rescue doesn't use the helicopter as often as you'd think; it's more common to hike out and get someone. They do search (looking for someone missing), rescue (helping someone who needs it, whose location is known), and recovery (retrieving deceased people from the field).
For mountain rescue specifically, you also describe by angle: flatland (no ropes), low angle (you need a rope, but it's not holding full weight), and high angle (your full weight is on a rope, like a rappelling example we saw). - @andrew #pybeach
