🏒🥅 🏆 🇨🇦 Why have I left Oilerville to embrace my roots as a ‘70s Habs fan? Leadership, or lack thereof.
This summer in Edmonton, the Oilers added a coach with a rep as a bully, and signed an admitted sexual predator. Meanwhile, in Montreal, the Habs signed an associate coach who’s a “good person” and a veteran who’s a “quality human being.”
I want my team to win on the ice. But I require that they win off the ice as players, executives who are worthy of kids’ respect and adulation. I want to see leadership, not “win now at all costs.” That approach hasn’t served Oilerville well in the McDavid era.
