🏒🥅 🏆 🇨🇦 It never ceases to amaze (infuriate) me when pundits fall back on “goalies are voodoo.” Goalies are many things, play arguably the toughest, highest pressure position in pro sports. Results, measured in SV% and GAA, are really team dependent. And —confidence dependent.

There are things hockey could learn from how MLB pitchers are handled, to help with the confidence game. Instead, goalies are too often either the heroes or the villains in a team’s narrative.

“While the Canadiens have four goalies at camp with NHL experience — including Kaapo Kahkonen, who spent last season with the AHL’s Laval Rocket — general manager Kent Hughes said only two will be on the roster when Montreal begins its regular-season schedule next Tuesday at Toronto.”
