  2. I love education and learning, it's my happy place. However, when the students from the local universities descend on the residential area with their loud late night parties ... yes, they're back in Liverpool already!!! - I have a strong negative sense towards the local establishments of learning.

    And So It Begins Again😫 😩 😪

  3. "This preventable fire signalled the dominance in British life, and death, of the four horsemen of late-stage capitalism: inequality, austerity, deregulation and privatisation. Six years later, with the official inquiry still in progress and nobody yet held accountable, a body of artistic work is building in response."

  4. "Before the internet (yes, there was more time before the internet than there has been since its invention) people shared more on a personal level, in a one-to-one nature.

If you were happy, curious, or intrigued, people around you were there to celebrate, investigate, and explore with you.

If you were ill, sad, or lonely, people around you had a workable solution for your immediate need."

  5. Had a quote from X for my annual car insurance, I accepted the quotation. On the renewal date the company took more than the quotation amount ... not much more, but still not the agreed amount.

They say it's a 'system error' and it's a 'price slip'.

I call bulls***t having working in computing for decades.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue?

Small amounts siphoned off your account by big organisations ... that's theft, isn't it?

My mother (& siblings) arrived in Southampton aboard the TN Ascania on 25 June 1958, they were four of the 567 passengers on board; that is when my personal Windrush generation history really started in the UK."

  8. Is watching The Traitors like watching Squid Game?
    (I never watched Squid Game.)

Some of the reactions and behaviours are starting to make me squirm.

If you had a choice would you participate? - with the additional advantage of watching the current participants, of course.

    I would not.

My heart couldn't take the stress. If I was a traitor I'd be caught out on day one.

  9. "As a member of the African diaspora, the festival’s curation feels personal to me – as if it was designed for me. Yet I wonder how other members of the Global Majority will experience it, and I wonder how white people will experience it."

  10. "I was quite mystified by not seeing any people of colour around the city, in the central parts of the city ... I was aware that Liverpool had one of the oldest Black communities in the country, ... but these people weren’t visible. So I began asking a few questions, and things started to surface..."
