In the C.Eng (chartered engineer) exams some decades ago, there was a mandatory module, "The Engineer in Society". This is where candidate professional engineers are required to reflect deeply on social, ethical, and environmental impacts.

Today it's paramount to champion this facet, else it's technology vs ecological regeneration (since we're long past the luxury of mere sustainability).

It seems that people who just want to ensure decent #housing today are, at every opportunity (ie. opportunistically), out-competed by #rentseekers that pile multiple #dwellings on a block with no #restorative, private outdoor space.

Our #Australian govt and #legacyMedia have been active #perpetrators of this #sociopathy

It needs to stop. We thought covid would bring these issues into focus but they are doubling-down on #distraction as they #printMoney for themselves.
