Just watched Identikit (aka "The Driver's Seat"). It might be at a low point in Elizabeth Taylor's career but it is peak Liz to me.
Recommending this and Kier-La Janisse's book House of Psychotic Women: An Autobiographical Topography of Female Neurosis in Horror and Exploitation Films that got me interested in the film.

I rescued this thick, encyclopedic volume from the trash. (Notice the page numbers are up to the 2800s!) These pages are from the chapter on #ElectricVehicles. This illustration is so similar to a modern garage I was intrigued to consider what opportunities had been missed as we progressed to our petro-industry fueled present?
I was surprised to see "gasoline-electric" mentioned on the first page! The 1916 Prius! 🙂 👍
"It is evident that the short coming in each case can be overcome only by combining the gas engine with a dynamo connected to a storage battery…" Wow! 1916 and they already had #hybridvehicles !!

Notice the curved outlines of "Hawkins" and "Number", the odd mix in "Questions Answers & Illustrations", the modern san serif all-upper case "Electricity…", and the circular "by" near the bottom. What a feast!
The motto: "The thought is in the question. The information is in the answer." What does that even mean?!

Лина Шир – Призрачное расследование
Мне книга залетела.
Это не простой, а мистический детектив. Нам сразу показывают, что девушку убили и она начинает бродить призраком и помогать в дальнейшем расследовании. Да вот только главный следователь – это ее батя (зря они его дочурку так, зря): суровый, душный и принципиальный. Его все боятся, в общем. Наш призрак в какие-то моменты мимолетно, физически помогает, когда острая нужда в этом. Некоторых даже пугает слабым присутствием.
Слог легкий, написано лаконично, без всяких вензелей, это все в плюс, читается быстро, глаз не режет. Почти вся книга в движении, что-то, да происходит. Да, в начале топчатся туда-сюда, типичное расследование, ну а потом клубок распутывается и сюжет разворачивается масштабнее.
