  1. Case has been dropped against #Serco employee accused of leaking #Thetford #Norfolk asylum seeker accomodation addresses - however this doesn't really let Serco off the hook, nor the local community - many others living in Thetford would have known the addresses (as its not that easy to just hide people in a street), and *chose* to circulate them..

(there's other social media circulating these details and they are not obviously linked to the man who was initially nicked)

  2. Only other news outlet to cover #Serco employee data breach story…

    news.sky.com/story/man-accused

I find it surprising that the local rag, Eastern Daily Press, hasn’t covered the story given its extensive coverage of the rightwing mob violence in #Thetford that resulted from the breach and one of its journalists was attacked during the 3 nights of thuggery.

The silence from the rightwing mainstream media is deafening.

  3. Many workers in the UK will have had to sit through very dry #GDPR data handling training courses.

I really hope this case of a #Serco employee circulating the details of #AsylumSeekers addresses in #Thetford leading to three nights of mob violence becomes a case study that gets a lot of attention.

  4. A worker from #Serco has been #arrested and remanded in custody awaiting a #CrownCourt hearing, accused of leaking home addresses of asylum seekers in #Thetford who were subsequently targeted by right wing activists during recent race riots in #Thetford #Norfolk

(I did wonder how the activists knew which houses to target, immigrants make up a quarter of Thetfords population (much more than I thought!) so its not as if the gammons could target *every* house where someone didn't "look English")

  5. Electronic tagging system unprepared to monitor thousands of early-release prisoners, watchdog warns

  6. The insanity of trusting NDIS Indigenous customer service to a private company - Serco - that will measure its success/failure by its annual profit.

  7. The Guardian reports that Serco employees are being presented to Australians as government employed NDIA staff, with Serco employees even being issued government email addresses.

Staff telling Guardian that "we have to pretend that we're public servants and we're not allowed to say we're Serco"

  8. Why is Health Minister Simeon Brown having quiet meetings with Serco? The company has a dreadful reputation internationally and a very poor record in NZ.

While they're best-known in NZ for being unable to run a prison, they also have their fingers in healthcare services in Australia, the South Pacific and the United Kingdom.

There's a suggestion that the Nats may be about to hand over part of the Dunedin Hospital rebuild to Serco. Because bad multinationals deserve taxpayer support.

Bryce Edwards: "Before the nation is locked into a long-term contract with a company defined by its failures, the public has a right to know what is being planned in its name."

Green MP Francisco Hernandez: "I'm frankly astonished that they took the meeting in the first place. Even the appearance of meeting Serco as the Minister of Health really discredits him."

  9. Internacia lingvo, kies vortojn mi povas facile kompreni kaj memori danke al ĝia simpla kunmetado, eĉ se mi ne parolas la francan?! Kia bela ideo! Mi tuj lernu ĝin! :gutkato_adoras:

  14. I remember when Serco was 'Group 4' and they had to change their name because of all the scandals.
That was before the Millennium and nothing, NOTHING has changed.

This country is broken and this is not the Government to fix it. It's the Government to carry on the grift and the rot.
Look how much Grift that PM has done. More in gifts than many of us make in years of work.

  15. #CovidInquiry – a damning report

#FatalStrategicFlaws” in #pandemic planning led to thousands of #AvoidableDeaths, says inquiry lead #BaronessHallett

'Although #BorisJohnson promised a “world-beating system”, only half of close contacts were reached through #TestAndTrace in badly affected areas. The use of private companies such as #Serco added to the complications, while, unfathomably, local #NHS expertise was overlooked.'
