My second round interview went really well so fingers crossed!

Got a really good vibe and they said they would get back 'as soon as we possibly can.'

Also, turns out the interviewer is good friends with a former colleague who I always got on really well with. Hopefully she's calling her right now to get a reference.

Good news - I have a 2nd round interview for a job I really want. #JobHuntPokerChip

Bad news - I have (very treatable) cancer. I have to have two operations - which sound pretty horrendous but I'll be asleep, at least. They will hopefully be done at the same time. And that *should* be it. But still, #FuckCancer

So, yeah. Mixed emotions this week.

Got an invitation for a first round interview today. It's a business and industry I know well and I'd be running a team again.🤞 #JobHuntPokerChip

Fuck me. Came back from Easter break to a job interview in my inbox. Promising. #JobHuntPokerChip

The usual couple of rejections this week also. But that's okay. Such is life.

Got fuck all from that recruiter despite chasing emails and LinkedIn messages. Fucking useless.

Anyway - 5 more chips in the #JobHuntPokerChip jar this last couple of weeks. Will soon have to start swapping them for a larger denomination. Which is a milestone of a sort, I suppose.

Couple of rejections, too but trying not to let them get to me.

This week I got 1 rejection (from one that I really wanted, too. Bummer) but some actual feedback, which is a rarity.

One call back from a recruiter, though. Could be promising.

More work on portfolio needed. It needs a look and feel overhaul and a bit of a reorganisation.

My wife wanted the tumbler back, too. So now it's a proper jar. 😆

#JobSearching at the moment. I'm lucky enough to have a job right now but it's not where I want to be.

Applied for dozens of roles over the last year or so and had no callbacks and no interviews; just lots (and lots) of rejection. 2025 has to be different.

Had my CV professionally rewritten, I've updated my portfolio and I'm back on the trail.

Every time I apply for a job, a #JobHuntPokerChip goes in the jar. 😊
