@cstross
I wonder if a border guard who opens a camera to inspect the images on it will then seek to arrest the owner for having destroyed the images on the film inside?
The ones who got cross when they commanded a digital device to zero itself might not see why not. -

Ceuta: Spain under pressure as Italy suspends Schengen deal.
Italy has officially suspended the Schengen agreement with Spain on Saturday for one month in response to the mass crossing in Ceuta.
The Schengen deal allows for free movement between nearly all of the EU’s 27 member states and several others that are not a part of the bloc, such as Switzerland, Norway and Iceland.

At least 18 died as 49 000 people crossed to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco.
Some drowned and others got caught up in crush, as the incident prompts criticism of Spain from France and Italy
The latest incident dwarfs the last mass border crossing in May 2021, when 10 000 people entered the territory over the course of two days by taking advantage of a loosening of border controls by Morocco.
