Sometimes I forget I have a Mastodon account. I wish I figured out a better way to use it. Seems like most people I know have settled on Bluesky. It all feels transient. I need to get back to more blogging.

Today's challenge was tough, but overall I have become better at Mini Metro. Yes, bottom 20% isn't great, but since I tried to go less circular, I'm actually happy with the results.

#ScribesAndMakers 25/10: What's something you accomplished this past week?
The better question is, what didn't I accomplish? I can't actually believe last week happened. First there was a lesson observation involving massive experimental adaptation of the set lesson which was seven steps too difficult for *any* seven year old. And the whole time one of the bosses was trying to undermine *all* the work I've been doing with reading since the beginning of September. Then I was sick with tonsilitis, but had to navigate two evenings of parent consultations. Then Friday I would have called in sick, honestly, but the children were finishing their stories for a competition and we were spending the whole afternoon making castles which would simply not have worked with a cover teacher. And then there was dreadful wind and rain so the kids were in all day and went kind of stir crazy and the castles almost blew away. Yesterday I wrote 2,000 words tho, so, on track with that...

I'm watching The Wicker Tree and I'm trying to decide if the Wicker Man remake is actually better than this dreary, wooden-acted, full-of-exposition-dialogue endeavour.
It's not all bad ... but it's far from good.
30 minutes in and so far there's been nothing interesting.

Crypto loves to hype new features. But a longer feature list doesn't automatically mean a better app. Sometimes the most useful product is just the one that lets you get the job done without a headache.
Beyond the basic swap
A good swap platform puts the important stuff where you can see it: what you're swapping, roughly what you'll get back, what fees you might pay, and which network you're on.
Clear explanations and sensible warnings go a long way too. They help people dodge mistakes that never needed to happen.
AviorSwap is one project you might look at if you're learning how crypto swaps work. Same as with any platform, check the supported assets, network compatibility, transaction details, and docs before you jump in.
Working features are just the start
Good product design is about features that work and are easy to understand. It accepts that users come in with very different levels of experience, and it gives them enough info to make their own call.
In Web3 you're usually the one fully responsible for your assets, so getting that balance right matters even more.
So what's your top priority when picking a swap platform: simplicity, the range of assets, fees, or transparency?#web3 #product #software #coding #development #engineering #inclusive #community

Bummed by results in Scarborough Southwest. I don't live there, but do live close by and have met Kevin Rupasinghe at several cycling events - he would've made a much better councillor IMHO than Parthi Kandavel (who, BTW, is under investigation by the OPP).
