Now Claude is listed as the most active contributor in the PebbleOS repo, this is purely vibe-coded. Very sad to see it having fallen this far.

I’ve had a #PebbleWatch preordered for what feels like 2 years. They ran out of what sounds like new old stock Duo, so I’ve been waiting for the Round 2.
Ships July, allegedly.
-
No idea if trying to hit bluesky from the fedi like this is going to work, but are there any updates for the #PebbleWatch pre-orders that were supposed to ship in June? I haven't received any updates via email and it doesn't look like there are any recent blog posts or updates on the site that I can find.

After a week with my new Pebble Time 2 watch I’m really happy with it
I see it arrived just on a week ago now, and although I've been using it a lot with testing apps, exercising, monitoring sleep, etc the battery is only now dipping below 50%. It is supposed to be good for about 3 weeks of use. Isn't this what a smartwatch should be all about! With all...

Pebble Time 2! It's like an old friend is back.
Since owning the original Pebble and Pebble Time I've gone off smart watches, but something about this made me want one. Maybe it's nostalgia but I'll have some fun with weird and wonderful watch faces I'm sure!

I am so thrilled that Pebble watches are a thing again. I ordered both the Core 2 Duo and the Pebble Time 2, mainly because the PT2 shipping time was much later and I wanted a new Pebble quickly. The Pebble Time 2 is a huge upgrade in terms of build quality, functionality, and screen resolution.
But i find myself still wearing the Core 2 Duo because monochrome e-ink displays just have such a better contrast ratio. The Core 2 Duo is significantly easier and more comfortable to read, especially with the backlight off. I wouldn't have believed it without having both watches, but if they made a monochrome Pebble Time 2 i think that would be the best Pebble of all.

Made a simple #pebble watch app so I can open my garage door with the watch. There was a similar app available, but it didn't work. Just enter the URL that needs to be called, add user and password with if needed. That's it. #pebblewatch #repebble

Hehe, I got this message yesterday, when I was already wearing my #pebblewatch good timing.
It is a really nice smartwatch. I can't believe how much it NOT asks me to send data to everywhere.

@loke @wouter @haeckerfelix
I had the same requirements. Somebody suggested "Pebble Fit" which, after some brief testing, seems to fit the bill. Check it out.https://apps.repebble.com/pebble-fit_bf2efac1529d47b69b30a004

I really missed my Pebble Watch when Google shut it down. Now it's open source, the founder brought it back, and, 280€ later, I finally have a #pebbletime2 on my wrist.
Impressed so far. iOS support isn't quite on par with Android, but after day one it's fine. Fewer features than my Apple Watch Ultra 2, mostly health stuff. For the rest, I was grabbing my phone anyway.
Good to be back in Pebble world. Will report if the excitement lasts.

I'm a sucker for smart watches. What can I say?
Except for: Hurray, Pebble 2 arrived today!

I could definitely see myself buying a PT2+, say, a PT2 with GPS!
Failing that, it would be good to see a decent bike computer app on the PT2. The old Pebbles used to have a good bike app supported by RunKeeper running on the phone but that capability disappeared some years ago now.

@TechConnectify mentioned the #pebblewatch in his latest video and I think I want one.
It's an e-ink smart watch that promises battery life of over a week and is fully open source. It will probably work great with my degoogled phone.

@fuzzyface I also brought out of retirement my two Pebble watches, the original one and a Pebble Time. The latter won't charge or start up unfortunately but the original one works just fine! Battery lasts about 4-5 days which is quite reasonable. I've started wearing it again in preparation for the arrival of the PT2! Cannot wait...

Pebble.

Looks like the back button on my original Pebble Time has given up this morning :(
Searching for repair info doesn't seem to find a lot of useful things these days, does anyone have any good guides saved/bookmarked on repairing the buttons? Specifically the back button
I've got a whole new watch on preorder but I'd like this to carry on just a bit longer!

I am ever so slightly embarrassed, feeling a little foolish basically.
I have a Pebble classic (the original one). I stopped using it some time ago because the screen would end up corrupted after several hours of operation. I went out and bought a Garmin but still used the Pebble now and again (for a few hours at a time only).
Fast forward a few years: I decided to try a different watch face. It turns out that there's no problem with the Pebble hardware, only with that particular watch face I had been using! All these years, I've been missing out on using the Pebble.
So I'm back to using the Pebble full time. It's just so much nicer, not just the incredible variety of watch faces I can choose from but especially in terms of the consistency in the user interface compared with the Garmin. Makes me look forward even more to the delivery of the new Pebble Time 2! :-)
The Garmin is relegated to when I need/want the GPS facility.

Another Wear OS Smartwatch Maker Appears to Have Given Up
> It’s now much harder to buy a Mobvoi TicWatch and it's only committing to "essential" software support.
Well glad I bought the #pebblewatch just waiting for my order to come early next year. Just enough time for the ticwatch to survive a little longer 🤔

🕰️ Wow, the Pebble Watch software has finally transitioned from 95% to 100% open source. It's like watching paint dry, but with extra code! 🎨 The revolutionary idea here is #decentralization, because apparently, that’s something people still pretend to be excited about in 2023. 🙄
