Now Claude is listed as the most active contributor in the PebbleOS repo, this is purely vibe-coded. Very sad to see it having fallen this far.

So ganz ohne Big Tech.

It's very disappointing to see #Pebble go down the vibe coding route as well. Since around February almost all commits done to #PebbleOS seem to have been done with Claude, its account is listed as the third most active contributor now: https://github.com/coredevices/PebbleOS/graphs/contributors

Lilbits: Pebble Time 2 smartwatch adds touchscreen app support, entry-level Pixel 11 could have less RAM than Pixel 10
Before the Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch, there was Pebble. The pioneering smartwatch brand disappeared for a while after it was acquired by Fitbit… which was later acquired by Google. But last year Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky launched a new company called Core Devices and revived the brand.
For the most part, new Pebble-branded watches are a lot like the ones that shipped a decade […]

I'm not excited about putting on my #PixelWatch anymore. I can't wait for my #Pebble Time 2 to arrive in the next month or so. I really want to try out all the cool new apps and watch faces that have flooded into the store.

if the lead of the #pebbleos project closes legitimate tickets as "complete" despite no code being written and the issue still existing, then there is a governance problem with the project. -

Watch: P2D
Firmware: normal_asterix_v4.9.81Today, my watch didn't let me enter the menu anymore. It reacted to calls and the start of the charging process. But it wouldn't go back to the home screen. I've powercycled it twice but that doesn't resolve the issue. It's connected to my phone, showing the pebble OS logo.
Any ideas how to resolve this?

There's an SDK available to write your own (https://developer.rebble.io/sdk/), which is also provided via GitHub CodeSpaces if you don't want to run it locally.
Programming is done either in C (for full access to all watch features) or in JavaScript (for watchfaces, with limited access to watch features): https://developer.rebble.io/tutorials/js-watchface-tutorial/part1/
Lastly, the watch's operating system, PebbleOS, is open source, too: https://github.com/coredevices/pebbleos
