@JeGr @protonprivacy I just save them in #protonpass - works everywhere.
Still need a bootstrap solution to get into proton in case I ever lose all my devices together though... -

Time to quit Proton isn’t it? Just got a mail announcing new ai features: ”Proton Pass now supports AI access tokens, letting you share credentials with AI agents in a secure and controlled way.” This is a quote from part of the email, I can’t include all information. Look it up yourself for more detail.
Even if there’s a reason for this feature, even if it’s viable, there can’t be a single security minded soul who’ll seriously consider sharing their password manager with an AI, can there?
I will have to read the whole email but this can’t bode well, can it? :/
#protonpass #NoAI
(Also, first time using hashtags so hopefully I’ve done it correctly) -

Ik krijg net een mailtje van Proton, over Proton Pass. Die werkt nu ook met AI? Mijn Engels is onvoldoende om het te begrijpen maar het bezorgt mij de kriebels en heb de neiging het te verwijderen. Terecht of niet?

QUESTION: Does installing Proton Pass in Mullvad Browser ruin its purpose?
We want the extension for convenience, but Mullvad aims for "anti-fingerprinting" by making everyone look identical. Extensions inject custom scripts and modify the DOM. Trackers use MutationObservers to spot these client-side changes instantly. Even without logging in, your browser becomes unique.
Is the Proton Pass desktop app the only real way, despite the obvious inconvenience?

@kkdk Example with #bitwarden:
https://community.bitwarden.com/t/no-autofill-with-vivaldi-on-android/90253I personally use #GrapheneOS and #ProtonPass
And i can confirm that i have enabled Proton Pass as only "autofill service" and yave disabled Vivaldis's own password manager.

https://proton.me/blog/pass-access-tokens
Proton and ProtonPass now give you a way to curtail AI agents (should you choose to use them at all)
With AI access Tokens you can give an AI agent access to only the credentials you decide it needs, instead of your entire vault. -

Soooo Password Manager tool Bitwarden is enshitifying this week; with potential flow on implications for Vaultwarden (dont stress today, but be ready to stress later).
https://blog.ppb1701.com/the-quiet-renovation-at-bitwarden
Makes for an awkard moment for us at the Digital Justice Society.
We've recently downgraded our rating of Proton Pass, as month on month we we were finding they had become increasingly spammy in their sign up flows.
Now our "Best" options for free non-big-tech Password Managers.. are both Enshitifying.
Bitwarden, ProtonPass; the principal would like to see both of you after class today.

It seems like the password managers I have looked at like #BitWarden and #1Password have had some issues recently. I'm hearing worrying things about #KeePassXC and #ProtonPass. And I don't think I can rely on a built-in password manager like the one in #Firefox. I'm open to self-hosting or simpler versions, but my tech skills are mediocre and it's not an area I want to goof. So what's is a user of this modern hellscape internet to do? -

@john
You're correct, a password manager that's fully local and managed by you is the best option (if we're talking about KeePassXC/DX).I recommended #ProtonPass because it's the other most trusted and competitive "cloud/online password manager" option for the average user (afaik), and I'd hesitate to recommend any other potentially "less-established" companies for holding your passwords (but #KeePass does remain the supreme option imo if you can manage it).
