It's our anniversary! Sphinx joined our household a month ago. She had been an outside feral, was spayed and vaccinated as such (note clipped ear).
Until she could get a vet appt., she was confined to the bathroom. After her stressful visit to the vet she got a clean bill of health and a prescription flea treatment.
For a few days she didn't leave the bathroom, was clingy. Now she's friendly and affectionate with me, not clingy.
She explores freely and is developing relationships with the other 3 cats. There's been some growling and hissing but nothing serious. Treats distract them and bring them together peacefully. I talk to each of them, tell them what's going on, why they need to work things out.
Sphinx doesn't have to be alert for danger at all times, gets food at regular intervals, and no fleas. It's fun watching her adapt.

His clipped ear is not clear in this photo but it denotes neutering through Trap-Neuter-Release program. He's a male from the way the female ferals treat him. They're wary and will attack him if he gets too close.

Mastodon, meet Sphinx.
Sphinx is a former backyard feral I'd been feeding daily for over a year. Spayed and vaccinated about a year ago at age of four months through TNR as denoted by clipped ear. Yay, Trap-Neuter-Release!
She lived in the back yard, greeted me every time I opened the door, came daily for breakfast, looked on as I closed the curtain at night. She climbed onto my lap, asked me to pet her, rolled on her back on the ground.
One morning she did not come for breakfast. I felt sick, fearing her injured, hurt, or dead. Raccoons, opossums, other cats, roam freely at night, I'd heard nightly screams and yowls.
It was time to bring her inside.
She was confined to the bathroom for a few days until I could get a vet appointment. Bathroom provided a space where her fleas could not spread.
Vet gave her a clean bill of health and prescription for fleas which are now taken care of.
Let the introductions to the three resident cats begin!

The nearby vet is closed on Sunday, so we had an hour journey to a vet across town.
Despite the trek, I love this clinic. They run a #TNR program and are fabulous with stray cats.
I bring them the wildest, feline-part-werewolf and they make them into cat burritos and handle them like kittens.
