  1. @3dprinting Printed this from fullcontrol.xyz, the "Rippled Texture Demo." 0.16mm layer height and 0.4mm nozzle. Literally looks and feels like some rigid material, and the inside looks like fabric frozen in position and time.

  3. @synack @3dprinting the presets in #prusa were quite good for my #creality #CR6-SE. But after a year, I have greatly improved it by tuning it every time after a print.

You can also find profiles for your printer on #reddit. I have taken speed profiles from there and tuned them for myself.

  4. @synack @3dprinting I think if #prusa got in on the action, it would greatly improve. #creality currently has no competition or pressure to improve, and #cura has been falling behind. If #prusa were to make a #beltprinter and it is incorporated into #prusaslicer, I would also trust it more.

Which #slicer are you using for your #deltaprinter? What is your experience with the software for deltas?

But if two users from different #federations were to follow each other and discuss the same #hashtag, that post would then propegate to both instances. If other users on both #instances then do the same, it would lead to organic growth and discovery.

The thing is, people are currently isolated to their own. #instances with no discovery happening. Thus, the problem isn't automatically solved. It's just an endless deathloop at this time, and only #relays and #federations that act on it now can solve it. We basically need to manually do now what a larger user base would automatically do. Just imagine it like a neural network, still in its infancy stages of training and growing, and we need to shove it in the right direction in the beginning.

You are right, that would help the natural flow and reduce unnecessary data that will be propagated by entire #relays. It would allow for natural and organic connections to develop between #federations and make the entire process transaparent to users.

So, just as with most other things, the more user interaction, the better the experience.

But that makes me feel as if the apps that we use also need to catch up, because the suggestions and autocompletion of users when posting is really bad, while #hashtag completion is actually working very well in apps that I have tested.

  12. This is my take on the #3dprinting #challange of printing the print-in-place chainmail.

I used a creamy #PLA, which is softer and more pliable, which resulted in smooth and softer movements. A 0.4mm nozzle was used with 0.16mm layer height. The entire #print took about 3 hours on my #creality #CR6-SE

It was a fun #3dprinting challenge I have discovered. This model is #3D chainmaik made by #NASA. It can take quite long to print, but the final product is amazing, and it is a great tolerance test. I wonder who can print it better? #P1P #x1carbon #creality or #prusa

  16. @MOULE I would love to know what your experience on your own #instance is. Is it too isolated or are relays helping to populate your timeline? #Mastodon can easily become isolated in #federations.

  17. Do you know about @privacytools and privacytools.io?

Would you like to see a review of all the apps that I've decided over the years to use?

  19. @TreasureDev never heard of this. Will check it out. I have to say, my recent experience with the #cr6se and the force sensor it uses is driving em crazy. Also, it makes it more difficult to build custom heads for your #3dprinter, something which is very easy with an #ender and #bltouch.

  20. @atomicpoet @fediversenews I've also come to realize that more people actually use the browser app rather than mobile. There are also a lot of apps for #mastodon, more than #twitter.

And with the new #api changes and restrictions, Mastodon wins again. A chart of all popular Mastodon mobile app downloads would be interesting. Most people who mention that they use mobile, are using other apps than the #mastodonmobile app.

  21. @alcea @stux is why #groups are a good idea. @atomicpoet mentioned it first, I think.

It allows for moderation as well as users being associated with groups and topics. People can be banned and blocked. Also by mentioning #botaccounts and connecting your posts in that manner allows for other fun things.

  25. @stux #socialdiscovery has suffered a bit although and requires the #extensive use of #hashtags to help spread the #word and have the same #reach.

This is possibly problematic because #hashtags aren't moderated at all, allowing other parties to infiltrate and overwhelm feeds by spamming irrelevant posts with a specific hashtag.

"That's the #freespeech," some would say. Well, others say it degrades the quality of your #timeline. Some would reply that you should just follow the people that you want and associate with #instances and #federations that you are interested in.

It is a difficult thing, and the idea of #groups as some has proposed might be a good idea. Because I myself don't see anything relevant in the #hashtags in the #mastodon app. Where an algorithm could help a bit, but then again, that information needs to be extracted from somewhere, again coming down to #privacy and #moderation.

I would like to see a page of hashtags people I follow are following.
