  2. @omar I'm a longtime user — using #Syncthing at near 6 or more years. It is installed on 3 devices: main PC with Gentoo, laptop with FreeBSD and smartphone with a Lineage OS. I didn't touch configuration, so probably it using the public relay/discovery server (if it is not censored in my country, I dunno :drgn_sigh: )

    So, I was never lose my files in these 6 years and never met any big problems with my Syncthing installation — it just works.

    One minor inconvenience — beause of Android :drgn_sigh: — I can't sync files with colon in name with smartphone

  3. @raven @RecurringBloatware @probono Same story, I used different monitors (CRT 17" iiyama, some Samsung 17", Benq XI2420z 24", 2k panel from some HP EliteBook in my laptop and tons of secondary displays and projectors), various OSes and distros (Slackware, Debian, Linux Mint, Oracle Linux, Devuan, Gentoo, FreeBSD, etc) and various video cards (old Palit with AGP bus😃, GTX 760 Ti and Intel GMA X950/X3100).

    Also I've installed a lot of Linuxes on my previous work and for some friends too :drgn_happy:

    And I never saw something like that people posting when speaking about "screen tearing". Tend to think that despite the problem exists — it isn't so widespread as people like to claim :drgn_sigh:

  8. Woohoo! Worked out why `ltex-ls-plus` kept on failing on my system (the error was really obvious it was built with one Java version but being run with a different one).

    Why was that? I hadn't selected the same `java-vm` for both `system` and `user` under #gento

    ```
    eselect java-vm system 2 # as root
    emerge ltex-ls-plus #as root
    eselect java-vm user 2 # as user
    ```

    Everything is good again.

  9. Yesterday the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust @[email protected] posted an article about the restoration of the Damoy Point Hut. No pictures of the inside of the hut were included but as I've been there and inside I thought I would post about it.

    It sits beside and even smaller Argentine refuge hut. There is a colony of Gentoos nearby but unlike Port Lockroy they keep their distance.

  10. are you ever going to post full nudity again?
    At some point, probably. Been falling into that mood again now that I've been returning to being a bit more fit.

  11. How were you able to pay your bills with nudes? Sounds like one has to be their own sales manager for that. Are there any tricks?
    (Asking as someone who cannot pay their bills but can do nudes and more.)
    It is like running any other business, though you'll have to deal with a lot higher percentage of shitty people. It's a lot of work, even with services like pornhub, fansly, etc., doing some of the heavy lifting. I did more than just nudes, though, too. Plus there's taxes to think about too since it is income.

  12. Pico 4 allow play non VR games?
    Run it in 2D paper on 3D VR room, for example
    Yes, it lets you use your PC as a virtual desktop. If you want each program as its own window, you can also use XSOverlay (or similar) program for even more useful features.

  13. I see you post public nudes and stuff, which I really enjoy you being you. How did you got so far in life that you just said fuck it I think this is fun and I am doing it?
    I've been doing it since I was 18 and I'm not sure there was ever a "fuck it I think this is fun" and more like "I enjoy teasing and being seen, so this is a logical step."

    It also paid my bills for several years, so that was also a motivator when I was younger.

  19. Gentoo's recent "vulnerabilities" read like a bad soap opera: "Copy Fail," "Dirty Frag," and "Fragnesia"—because nothing says secure like a kernel with amnesia. 😂🔑 Maybe next they'll discover "Oopsie-Daisy" and "Whoops-a-Doodle." 🤷‍♂️🐧

  20. I've finally finished pushing the latest update for #Gentoo Distribution Kernels, and requested their stabilization. This includes upstream releases 7.0.9, 6.18.32, 6.12.90 and 6.6.140; and Gentoo patch bumps 6.1.173_p1, 5.15.207_p1 and 5.10.256_p1.

    All of these contain the v5 #Fragnesia patch. And yes, while the exploit is in the wild, upstream still hasn't merged a fix to the mainline kernel, let alone all the LTS branches. Of course, the patch keeps covering more holes, but it would really be preferable to do that as a followup instead of leaving people vulnerable and forcing us to keep rebasing it.

    They also include a few reverts in 6.18 and 6.6 for broken PowerPC backports that upstream didn't apparently test. 🤷

    We're doing our best, but I'd still recommend running the latest 7.0.x kernel, or LTS 6.18.x, because upstream is far from reliable with the backports.

  21. @tkissing Like #gentoo? 😇

    But seriously: What do you want to do that gentoo can’t or isn’t good at?

    Usually, when folks know what gentoo is, it is also the right call to use it.
