  1. It felt like Smallville. Joseph (Nic Cage) is trying to keep teenage Jesus's identity and powers a secret. Jesus is learning how to use his healing power, which he discovers by accident after falling on a leper; his mere touch heals the guy.

There's a bit where teenage Jesus is chased by a hoard of zombie-like lepers asking to be healed. That made me LOL. #badMovies #GodAwfulMovies #movies

  2. The God Awful Movies podcast inspired me to watch the new Nic Cage movie "The Carpenter's Son", which is loosely based on the gospel of Thomas. It's so bad it's been banned in some countries apparently. #badMovies #GodAwfulMovies #movies

  3. After one week of Mastodon I’ve:

    1. Downloaded and tested all the Mastodon clients. 🔬

    2. Tore apart and upgraded a Gameboy Advance.🪛

  5. Across the street from my apartment in Chelsea a building caught fire tonight about an hour ago. I think there are like 5 or 6 fire trucks out there right now. Our power has been out for the last half hour too. #Boston #ChelseaMA

  8. I was given the Linus Tech Tips screwdriver for Christmas. It stores a dozen different bits inside the handle. I'm always losing screw bits so hopefully this will put an end to that.

I just used it to repair the bathroom towel rack after it fell off the wall. Required a Philips bit and a small hex bit. Worked nicely. #ltt

  10. My only problem with it is it'll run even if there's no water in the kettle. You can potentially destroy it that way. Maybe they fixed that in later versions.

  14. If you're wondering about the longevity of Fellow's electric water kettle, here's my experience:

I bought one in 2018. It died in 2020 (possibly because I spilt water on the base). Fellow sent me a replacement for free. I've been using it virtually everyday for coffee since then with no issues.

Btw, you can play Snake on the lcd screen.

  21. I watched the new Naked Gun reboot last night and it was actually really funny. I was worried it would be a pale imitation like the 2000s Pink Panther films.

It was chock full of gags. One of my favorite little bits was the sports stadium being owned by a crypto company called 'ponzi scheme dot com'.

I hope we get more screwball comedies in the future. They're a rarity these days on the big screen.

  22. The Food Recall app is a great service. I might need to throw out the peanut butter I bought last week.

I pay $35 a year for the app. It used to be a free service funded by the US government but the Trump regime cut their funding. Apparently it is run by just three people. #foodRecall #apps #fda #food #health #foodSafety

  24. Finally getting around to seeing "The Day the Earth Blew Up" (Looney Tunes movie). Tickets were only $7 a piece. Can't remember the last time movie tickets were in the single digits.

I heard the film is good, despite it barely getting attention for whatever reason. I don't recall seeing any trailers or ads for it. An animation youtuber brought it to my attention.

  25. My finds at Pax East: a gorgeous translucent red PS1 controller; Alien Vs Predator: Extinction for PS2; and Unreal Tournament for PS2.

The original UT is one of my favorite games of all time. I grew up playing it on my Pentium II Gateway tower. Curious to see what it's like on a console. It supports up to 4 players.

  26. I appreciate the Apple Classical app but two things are keeping me from really embracing it:

    1. No Mac version. It's iPhone/iPad only.
    2. No playlist folders. I have hundreds of playlists (really albums that I've turned into playlists) organized into a complex folder hierarchy in Apple Music. The Classical app turns all that into a single flat playlist list. #Apple #AppleClassical #AppleMusic #iOS #Mac
