Ein neues Theme am Horizont: Hubzilla - Solidified

Eine häufig geäußerte Kritik an Hubzilla – neben der Kompliziertheit aufgrund des Feature-Reichtums – ist das Fehlen einer ansprechenden, modernen und leicht verständlichen Benutzeroberfläche.
Das Standard-Theme "Redbasic" wird oft als altbacken und langweilig empfunden, was in gewisser Hinsicht auch den Tatsachen entspricht. Es kann aber auch sehr flexibel modifiziert und ergänzt werden, so dass dieser Vorwurf auch eher zu hart ist.
Seit einiger Zeit gibt es aber 3rd-Party-Themes, die deutlich moderner aussehen und auch die Arbeitsabläufe vereinfachen. Es handelt sich um die Utsukta-Themes von Saiwal. Für die Nutzung als Social-Network-Fediversedienst sind die Themen Adminlte und Typerite sehr gut geeignet. KeepItSimple und Spurgeon sind eher Themes für die Macroblogging-Nutzung und für artikel-lastige Kanäle. Und dann gibt es noch LCARS, ein Theme für "Startrek-Freaks", das optisch echt der Kracher, in Hinblick auf die Benutzerfreundlichkeit aber kein Glanzpunkt ist.
Und Saiwal arbeitet nun auch geraume Zeit an einem weiteren Theme: Solidified.
Um dieses Theme soll es in dieser kleinen Artikelserie nun gehen.
Oftmals wird geschwärmt, wie praktisch, modern und anpassungsfähig denn die Oberfläche von Misskey und den verschiedenen Forkeys sei.

Insgesamt gibt es aktuell dreiundzwanzig Farbschemata plus ein benutzerdefiniertes Schema, bei welchem man Farben selbst definieren kann!
Das Layout von Solidified ist auch schon gut anpassbar. So können verschiedenen Bereichen in den Ansichten Widgets hinzugefügt und verschoben werden und die Einträge im App-Menü umsortiert werden.
Was ebenfalls auffällt, ist, dass bestimmte Einstellungen/Apps/Funktionen logisch zusammengefasst wurden.
Ein gutes Beispiel ist die Verbindungsverwaltung.
Unter den "klassischen" Themes findet man seine Verbindungen in der App "Verbindungen". Und dort kann man auch neue Verbindungen durch Eingabe des Webbies (Fediversehandle) herstellen und bestehende Verbindungen bearbeiten.
Möchte man aber nun nach Verbindungen im Kanalverzeichnis suchen und ggf. hinzufügen, muss man die App wechseln und "Verzeichnis" aufrufen.
Will man jetzt auch noch seine Verbindungen bestimmten Privacy Gruppen zuweisen oder daraus entfernen, oder neue Gruppen erstellen bzw. bestehende bearbeiten, muss man wieder die App wechseln: Privacy Gruppen. Um nun auch noch Kontaktrollen zu erstellen oder zu bearbeiten... Na? ... Richtig: App wechseln... zu Contact Roles.
Bei Solidified ruft man die App "Verzeichnis" auf und findet das dort alles an einem Ort:
Es gibt auf jeden Fall viel zu entdecken und auszuprobieren.
Derzeit läuft der Betatest! Das bedeutet, dass noch Fehler auftreten können, dass sich Dinge nicht wie gewohnt oder erwartet Verhalten, dass noch Funktionen fehlen oder nur eingeschränkt existieren. Es ist halt eine Vorabversion, um solche Unzulänglichkeiten zu beseitigen. Nur wenn sich möglichst viele an dem Test beteiligen, wird die erste finale Version zeitnah kommen und gut funktionieren. Deshalb möchte ich alle Hubzillanutzer darum bitten, das neue Theme auszuprobieren... und alle Admins, das Theme auf ihren Hubs zur Verfügung zu stellen. Und Fehler zu melden, sowie Wünsche zu äußern: Issues.

Solidified now is complete with all default modules working and most of addon features incorporated. You can give it a try by adding the theme repo with./util/add_theme_repo https://github.com/saiwal/Utsukta-hub-themes.git utsukta-themesand enabling it from/admin/themes`.- The interface is intuitive but if you need help with any widget, you can use the help icon in the lower left corner for contextual help.
- Currently 3 languages are supported, english, hindi and german. Other languages can be easily added if needed.
- Issues and bugs can be reported in the theme repo

The appearance and functionality of Hubzilla, a Fediverse software which has been continuously developed for 16 years now, are highly customizable. A key element for that are themes.
As an instance Administrator, you can create or install multiple themes, and make one or more of them available to your instance Users.
As a User, you can select any of the themes that your instance Administrator has made available.
If you are a Developer, you can create your own themes. Unlike some other theming systems, you can change more than the colors and images. You can change the entire HTML structure if you want using our templating system. You can mix and match the default code with your custom code, allowing you to selectively override the default templates. See the Tutorial for creating a derived theme.
A Hubzilla theme itself can contain predefined variants/flavours, called schemes. See AdminLTE and LCARS for examples of themes containing schemes.
Hubzilla themes have a light and a dark mode. The interface allows to switch between them at any time.
Some Hubzilla themes allow to define parameters on the instance level, which can again be overwritten on the user level. There are hardly any limits for such parameters. Examples of customizable parameters are "default to dark mode"; the background color and the background image (separately for the light and the dark mode); if the background image should be tiled or not; or if a collapsable sidebar should be collapsed or not.
An example for a customized functionality is the HQ tour, which is part of the AdminLTE theme.
Some of the existing Hubzilla themes are listed here. Everybody is invited to develop their own themes. We would be happy to hear from your achievements. A big shout-out goes to @Utsukta Themes, who lead the way in modern Hubzilla theme developping.
