Ich würde Mal davon ausgehen. Wenn der Film aber zb neu restauriert wird, gilt natürlich das Urheberrecht der Restaurator*innen. Zb bei #Metropolis . Also dann besser alte Digitalisierungen zeigen und nicht neue Blu-ray! Den Film oben kann ich sehr empfehlen als #screwball comedy!!

The 5th #screwball comedy my 9yo saw and the 3rd with Cary Grant — and she loved it again. It’s great that some films still entertain new generations after 80+ years. Even when it’s b&w. But there is a modern (or timeless?) quality to many of these films.

Pleased to meet you! I'm a small-city Canadian movie fan. I love Australian and New Zealand movies particularly because they're kind of like us - limited population means small budgets - but they're more isolated from the American cultural steamroller, so they do amazing things. Story is a whole lot more important when $100M of CGI is not an option.
Any particular movies? I'd love some recommendations I've never seen.

CW: Alcohol... Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey
I received a bottle of Screwball Peanut Butter Whiskey as a Christmas gift. Before this I was only vaguely aware that peanut butter whiskeys existed. I'm sure I never would have bought it for myself, which makes it a great gift. It's surprisingly delicious, quite sweet, tastes like peanut brittle candy. I'm drinking it neat and if I hadn't poured it myself I would think it's a cocktail.
Only 70 proof.

“Twentieth Century” (1934) 2/4 - It’s got all the right elements, but the telling causes this #CaroleLombard and #JohnBarrymore prototype #screwball comedy to drag. The scenes with #Lombard and #Barrymore trying to out-theatre the other are insanely fun even if #Barrymore feels like he is more acting than ‘reacting’. From a writing standpoint, it’s interesting to stack against #Hecht, #MacArthur, and #Hawks’s better known film, “His Girlfriend Friday” (4/4), which never fails to dazzle.
