While I own a few on DVD, I 'm not a fan of farcical comedies.
So, I've never watched the original #NakedGun & never plan to watch the remake either.
The quick release of theatrical flops like the remake of Naked Gun for streaming is becoming quite common.
I recently took a brief look at #LoveHurts ("starring" Ke Huy Quan) which was likewide quickly released for streaming on #PrimeVideo.
Unfortunately, it was yet another farce that I thought was idiotic & simply not worth my time to watch.🤷

The Naked Gun (2025) is really funny. And I watched the original this morning, so this is a fresh comparison. Lots of Zucker style jokes and plenty of new stuff that had a Lonely Island feel. There was also a fair amount of weird dated referential humor that may have been McFarlane's influence, but honestly was probably just more Lonely Island guys stuff.

What better way to get started for the new Naked Gun movie with Liam Neeson than going back and watching the classic trilogy? (No, the Liam Neeson one isn't called Naked Gun Episode One: The Phantom Menace, but if I had my way it would be.)
Leslie Nielson, which almost rhymes with Neeson, was nothing short of brilliant in his deadpan portrayal of Detective Frank Drebin who, for the record, was not at all like Commander John J. Adams who he portrayed in the 1956 sci-fi classic Forbidden Planet.
Don't get confused, because the #comedon movie is The Naked Gun, which would be an entirely inappropriate watch party tag for Forbidden Planet. They are not remotely connected movies. Even the soundtracks are different. No, OJ Simpson wasn't in Forbidden Planet. You're thinking of Capricorn One. But he was in two of the three Naked Gun movies. It was a different time. As is every time that isn't this time.

So I was skeptical.
Then I heard Liam Neeson was cast, and it made me wonder... that might be perfect casting.
