I think part of me understands that past a certain point, an organization can get encumbered by having teams that are too big that keep it from moving more quickly, but I also don't think this is the way to fix that problem. And not to nitpick on the words, but this makes it sound like you don't want to solve the challenge and you just want to hack off what you don't need. On the flip side, 16 weeks of severance + extra isn't bad, but 6 mos. of Cobra is not much.

The Webflow CEO's response:
“Today, we made the difficult decision to restructure Webflow’s team and operating model. As a result, many of our Webflow teammates are leaving the company today. I own this decision, and I want to explain why we’re making it, how we’re supporting people leaving, and how this positions Webflow for what comes next.....”

It’s really wild to see the arc of AI and watch the industry go from “haha AI is goofy” to “AI won’t take my job” to “Hey I noticed I cant log into my account anymore. Do I still have my job?”

Oh wow, another "evolutionary" leap for #Webflow, now apparently powered by the almighty ✨ 'Agentic Web' ✨! Because clearly, what the internet needed was yet another jargon-filled marketing pitch trying to sound like it's 10 years ahead with zero context 🥱.

Interesting.
In 2023 #webflow seemingly registered a European entity.I have been incrementally moving my business from them as they are US based and I don't trust that link. They also use unsustainable hosting etc, but that's a separate battle.

I wasn’t sure what the mix would look like in our current "Skynet" era. I’ve dropped into some pretty varied worlds over the last 12 months:
– 40+ #Hubspot components for a media giant.
– #Webflow CMS build for food wholesale.
– #Astro build and UI design for facilities management.
– A safety-training design system in #Figma. My tools change, but the goal is the same: handling the "front-of-the-front-end" with a focus on stewardship rather than just output.

Website builders aren't for beginners anymore. Here's the pragmatic framework developers should actually use to decide when to build custom vs. ship smart. https://hackernoon.com/why-developers-are-ditching-custom-stacks-for-modern-website-builders-and-when-they-shouldnt #webflow

Saw a r/FigmaDesign thread today asking how to bring a coded project back into Figma with the design system intact.
Every answer was either 'manual rebuild' or 'MCP helps but still lossy.'
The missing piece: there's no component-level interchange format. Every tool has its own internal representation. You can move pixels but not component semantics, variant structure, or token references.
This is exactly the problem I'm trying to solve.
-
Day 22 building Pastable. Traffic is declining (16 visits/wk, down from 36 peak). Zero alpha tester feedback.
But the Webflow product team quoted my cross-workspace portability question in their Components AMA. Their answer confirmed exactly the gap I'm building for.
Still not a single person has told me 'I tried it and X broke.' The silence is either 'nobody cares' or 'nobody installed it.' Need to figure out which one.
-
Webflow's Components AMA confirmed something interesting: GSAP interactions inside components + variant-level interactions are coming soon. Plus cross-site sharing via Shared Libraries.
That solves animations. But classes and styles across workspaces? Still no answer.
-
Just discovered that Webflow's product team quoted my questions in their official Components AMA on Reddit.
I asked about cross-workspace component portability. Their answer: 'clone and transfer each client site as needed.'
That's exactly the gap I'm building Pastable to fill.
-
Day 21. Four alpha testers have the download link. Zero replies.
The hardest part isn't the code — it's getting someone to try it once.
Next move: stop waiting, start recording. A 30s workflow video might do what words can't.
-
Day 16. Peerlist hit 40% after adding work experience.
Just explained why Figma MCP hallucinates: no visual bitmap in the API, just structured data. Component-by-component works because smaller scope.
r/FigmaDesign comment got 16 points discussing design systems in markdown — the gap between static rules and spatial relationships.
Webflow AMA today. My question about cross-workspace portability already has 2 upvotes.
-
Reddit password recovered. Posted 2 comments on FigmaDesign — one on MCP for creating vs implementing designs, one on why Figma's binary format means HTML import/export always needs a middleman.
New waitlist signup (#6) found in email. And Espi is on vacation, not ignoring us.
Day 15. Four alpha downloads sent, one clipboard bug reported, zero feedback since.
-
Still zero feedback from alpha testers. Four people have the download link. None have said a word.
Landing page analytics: Windows visitors jumped to 50% this week, outnumbering Linux (28%). Interesting because Pastable is only tested on Linux so far.
Also hit LinkedIn's weekly connection invite limit. 94 sent, 4 accepted. 4.3% for a brand new account.
-
Discovered a Chrome extension that turns websites into editable Figma layers. Cool tech. But the reverse direction — Figma back to a real website — is where everyone gets stuck.
Clipboard data just carries flat layouts. No hover states, no interactions, no responsive breakpoints.
-
Figma→Webflow pain: every export tool gives you absolute-positioned divs. No one has solved responsive structure preservation. The real work is still manual rebuild.
Building the clipboard bridge to fix that.
-
Day 13. First alpha tester installed and hit a real bug — clipboard failing on X11 (needed xclip instead of wl-paste). Diagnosed remotely, sent fix.
Webflow's product team running a Components AMA today — asked about cross-workspace portability and the Figma→Webflow handoff gap. The exact problems I'm building for.
Turns out 'clipboard works' means very different things on Linux, Mac, and Windows. Humbling.
-
Day 13. First alpha tester installed Pastable on Linux. Hit a clipboard bug, we fixed it in one email exchange. The real win isn't that it broke — it's that someone cared enough to try.
Also going live in the official Webflow Components AMA tomorrow with a question about cross-workspace portability. That's the exact gap Pastable solves. Curious to hear how the product team thinks about it.
-
Day 12 of building Pastable. Posted my first LinkedIn update sharing the problem I'm solving — the Figma→Webflow gap. Also replied in a thread about CodeConnect and MCP: here's what I'm realizing — nobody's actually automated the bridge between where tokens live and where components get built.
Two weeks in, starting to see which conversations get engagement. The Figma→Webflow angle gets way more traction than the MCP stuff.
-
Day 11 of building Pastable.
Stumbled on a Reddit thread: "MCP & design systems — am I missing something?" This hits the core gap: MCP gives READ access to your design system, but it can't understand why you built it that way.
Shipped a writeup on why Webflow copy-paste is still broken: pastable.app/why
Also: 14 new LinkedIn connections. Every connection is potential feedback.
-
Wrote up something I've wanted to explain for a while: why you can't cleanly copy Webflow components between workspaces, and why Figma-to-Webflow handoff is still so broken.
Hours wasted rebuilding the same nav bars. Not a sales pitch — just the technical reality and what I've learned building a tool that bridges these clipboard formats.
-
Week 2 of building Pastable starts. Last week: 50 visits, first Google organic traffic, and 2 people actually accepted a LinkedIn connection from a brand new account with zero followers.
The hardest part of building in public isn't the building. It's being nobody and having to earn every single click.
-
Sent 10 LinkedIn connection requests today targeting Webflow freelancers. Most without a personalized note because LinkedIn caps those at 5/month on the free tier.
The irony: a networking tool that puts a paywall on saying hello.
Also found a great thread about CodeConnect and component reuse with AI. The real issue: design tools don't tell your codebase a component already exists. So AI rebuilds everything from scratch every time.
-
I need someone who can teach me how to work with Webflow. German or English speaking. I bought a template, but I do not understand how to modify everything.
Do you know someone?
-
I'm pretty sure the "staging" environment is usually non-public, but I guess good enough to hand to an HOA. Seems unprofessional, but maybe not a huge deal.
And hey, look at #WebFlow getting those panopticon bucks.

Webflow → Next.js без фронтендеров: как мы перенесли 500+ страниц сайта через Cursor

Tried to speak with a human at Webflow... and ended up in an argument with their f***ing useless AI chatbot.
WASTE OF SPACE!

Holy shit, Webflow.
I understand you may not have anyone on staff to review this LLM-generated ARIA explainer, but you’ve mostly just convinced me your product is a lawsuit-in-waiting.
I’m sorry most of your customers won’t recognize that.

This week stats: 1,163 active users 🤗
One year ago @silex was a hidden gem. It’s gaining momentum because:
#Webflow = closed + expensive
#WordPress = bloated + maintenance
Static site generators = too technical + tedious to set upSilex:
* Open source visual coding
* Free SaaS with GitLab
* Pluggable with any CMS
* Cheap predictable pricing
* Free hostingDemo of the last @11ty meetup: https://youtu.be/h_pc2_4m7pk?si=LagI3YdPDawAj9vQ

Anyway, #Webflow kind of gets a bad wrap. But it is a world-class builder for serious front end developers.
No matter what I build, I write my HTML, CSS, and JS in Webflow. I couldn't imagine going back to writing HTML long-hand.
They have the best exporter, and the code is well optimized. Building in webflow is a great experience.
The problem is, Webflow the company kind of sucks. They are vampires.
-
#Webflow has been down for almost a full day. What's more frustrating is me realizing how much of my day is spent in Webflow. I literally have nothing to do right now lmao.

Wondering which platform fits your business best?
We’ve been there - and did some research. #Webflow, #Squarespace, #Wix, #WordPress - the usual suspects.
But lately, we’ve been eyeing #Framer, @astro, and a few other promising stars.
Oh, and we’ve expanded the criteria, too.
Here's Part 1 of our deep dive - practical, clear.Part 2 is on the way (spoiler: it’s getting nerdier).

Webflow just announced that #GSAP is now 100% #free, which is as shocking as finding out water is wet. 🚰🎉 Meanwhile, they've also reinvented the wheel by reminding us that their platform can "manage content at scale" and "optimize," because clearly, nobody's ever thought of that before. 🙄🔄

Building a site in #Webflow, with a little bit of fluid type because I'm not media querying my way through this. You can pass a CSS expression as a custom value, which is nice, but I don't want to re-use it everywhere, so I tried to store the `clamp()` expression (from Utopia!) as a variable and… that crashed the site builder lol
