Please recommend me a #Linux desktop for my daughter’s laptop. #Ubuntu just refused to boot yesterday. Also all that #snap shenanigans… Looks like I need something more stable, but less harsh than #Debian. #Mint maybe?

@billgoats I recommend something like a #hp #T620 #ThinClient for those that want to poke with #Linux on the #Desktop.
You can get one used with 4 GB RAM, WiFi and power supply for less than a @Raspberry_Pi #Pi4B2GB or #CM4WLite1GB at MSRP.
It'll run anything from #RaspberryPiOS for #ix86 and #lightweight #Linux distros like @bunsenlabs #BunsenLabsLinux to @ubuntu #UbuntuServer LTS and even @tails #Tails.
Tho #UbuntuDesktop will feel very slow on it.
But with something like #Porteus it's fine.

Utilizzo da oltre 20 anni Debian ed Ubuntu sulle macchine server, ma sono rimasto impantanato su Windows lato desktop. Questo non ha senso lo so, ma sono un fottuto abitudinario ed infatti ad ogni nuova release faccio di tutto per reimpostare l'interfaccia com'era con win95... Per poi collegarmi alle macchine Linux. Da qualche giorno sto togliendo win dai miei desktop definitivamente e già mi sento meglio.

Domanda secca: fermo restando che la release deve essere basata su Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, quale scegliere e perché? Al momento sto su gnome ma vorrei provare anche altro prima di fermarmi.

Metto queste 4 scelte che tra le derivate ( https://www.ubuntu-it.org/download/derivate ) mi sembrano le più interessanti, se avete altri consigli please reply!
