I admit @LubuntuOfficial #Lubuntu kinda knocked my socks off today. I've been trying to find something I like for a certain 01/2015 low-end semi-refurb HP15 and the "tiny" and "pi" OSes weren't what I was digging but the XFCE of Zorin Lite and Mint XFCE were almost too "heavy", but LXQt & Lubuntu = usability and speed wo sacrifice. I don't know why I dug my heels in this long. It isn't a daily driver, it's a special-purpose computer, but Lubuntu is officially in my .iso roster. 👍

Installing #Lubuntu on an HP ProBook 6560b. This thing was destined for landfill after the company that owned it went belly up. It looked a mess, but cleaned up nicely and is now pristine, a if it just came out of the box. I had it running with Mint Cinnamon on it, but decided to try Lubuntu to see if I could wring some more oomph out of the old hardware.
This thing is 15 years old and everything still works perfectly!

@ct_Magazin es ist doch wie mit allem. Welcher Mensch braucht auch allen Ernstes alle zwei Jahre ein neues Handy, nur weil der Vertrag abläuft? Vor einigen Jahren konnte man gebrauchte Rechner kaum nutzen, aber die aktuelleren Geräte sind auch nach einiger Zeit im Einsatz noch zweite Hand prima zu gebrauchen. #windows ? Was ist das? 😅

#Zorin se retrouve aussi à la remorque de #Ubuntu qui eux suivent #Debian et #Lubuntu n'est probablement pas la priorité pour Canonical bref, éventuellement la version de Lxqt va être à jour pour Wayland mais d'ici là, il est préférable d'aller voir ailleurs en attendant (comme Arch, Alpine, Fedora, openSUSE Tumbleweed... Voir même Debian).

Jeg hæftede mig ved at du skrev gamle bærbar og der kan du med fordel bruge Lubuntu som kræver langt mindre motorkraft end fx Ubuntu gør.

Hvis du synes Ubuntu køre dårligt eller langsomt, fordi din computer er gammel, så kan det være Lubuntu løser det problem og ellers er der andre alternativer.
