One of the things that excites me about #Mastodon is the fact that, due to it lacking an algorithm or paid ad's, it truly is a level playing field.

This means that #grassroots organisations really have a chance to connect with their followers and grow organic reach, where other platforms may deprioritise their content. (Despite the fact you chose to follow the org in the first place!)

It'll be interesting to see the impact on both #politics / #scotpol and the #thirdsector. 😁

My PhD is in Applied #psychology. I've worked a lot w/ Black-led #NonProfit #NGO #thirdSector orgs to create system changes. Clinical psych is mainly white middle-class women oriented and many #Black #BIPOC /asylum seekers won't get mental health help. We need to look at #music, #dance, #movement #innerWisdom as a way to promote #mentalHealth. I try to play matchmaker, finding #grants but I'd like to see #funders devote #funding to #innovative & #inclusive work
