The stars aligned and I got to run games of #TheOneRing2e for TWO groups of friends this month! The setting being LotR really helped my sales pitch, and I think it was a huge step on my journey to deprogram my friends from D&D lol

We played the starter set adventure: Over Hill and Under Hill. For the module's finale (crawling through a spooky cavern) we turned off the lights and busted out lanterns around the table. It was an absolute blast!

8/8 of my friends would recommend

Just received a shipping note from #FreeLeague. I assumed it would be #coriolisTheGreatDark #kickstarter for which they had sent the address confirmation check last week.
But in fact it's the new #TheOneRing2E starter set.
I might even receive it before its official announcement on Thursday.

Do I buy too much of their stuff? Maybe 😬

My #ttrpg2025 starts today and this weekend with three Campaigns I am currently running for different groups. We start with #swordsandwizardry today, where we’ll be continuing #ElderOak. Saturday continues my Ravenloft #curseofstrahd sandbox, where we left off at the beginning of what promises to be a very challenging encounter with a Lich, capped off by our continuing #TheOneRing2e campaign on Sunday, where I’ll not say more, because one player is reading along here.

Spent a fun time with #TheOneRing2e making a scholar ranger of the North. I'm also considering homebrews and variants as I go. Need to get a copy of the #pbta #thefellowship to compare and contrast. I'n all in with #onering (at least solo play so far), but I've been hankering to consider #Glorantha, #SpeedRune and some of the related writings of Ted Gioia on historical music, etc. to brew or create something a little different. studying #goodsocietyrpg too. #ttrpgDesign #ttrpghomebrew #ttrpg

And damn is the Collectors Edition a beautiful book 🤩 I'm soooo happy to have ordered it (and sad to have missed the CE base book).

There's also some other great stuff in the box, which I'll show you tomorrow or in the next few days.

Morgen gilt die #Zufallstabelle einem speziellen System, nämlicher #TheOneRing2e . Normalerweise sind meine ja eher generisch Fantasy, SciFi etc.
Was findet ihr in eurem Rollenspielalltag nützlicher. Generisches oder für das System eurer Wahl? Würde mich über ein kleines Stimmungsbild aus #pnpde freuen.

@W99 @zeitiger Ich mag ihn bisher. Die Delve-Regeln sind mMn deutlich an #TheOneRing2e angelehnt, was ich aber nicht so schlecht finde.
Das mystische ist so eine Sache. The Great Dark wird, das kann man jetzt schon absehen, wesentlich fokussierter sein. Ich persönlich finde das gut, denn jenseits der Kampagne fand ich #Coriolis schwer zu nutzen, weil es irgendwie alles hatte, aber nichts so ausgearbeitet, dass man einfach loslegen konnte. 1/2

Heute Abend leite ich den #Quickstarter von #CoriolisTheGreatDark. Beim Lesen wirkte es sehr solide. Jetzt schon merkt man, dass das Spiel wesentlich fokussierter als noch #Coriolis The Third Horizon, was glaube ich auch nicht schlecht ist.
In den Regeln für den Delve sehe ich deutliche Anleihen an #TheOneRing2e, das ja auch mittlerweile von #FreeLeague herausgegeben wird. Auch #HeartTheCityBeneath war sicherlich eine Inspiration. Keine schlechte Sache, sind ja gute Spiele. #pnpde
