Playing in a homebrew Stars Without Number game by @[email protected]. We are a hapless tank crew on a distant planet roving and in the middle of a flash point conflict.
The last time I played a #WorldsWithoutNumber game, my necromancer was ripped apart by dogs in the first combat encounter. Rolling 1 HP was not nice. I put work into making the character unique and made a unique concept last time, and never got to play it beyond the one shot.
This time witt SWN, I'm not as attached to my character. The SWN character generation didn't give me a stat above 10, and I have 3 stats with penalties! 3d6 rolls without a fixed minimum array option character gen is brutal.
I also took the skill 'Polymath', so I can attempt non-combat rolls with all the skills in the game, but because of my stat array I have awful luck at passing any of them.

@charlie_epsilon I know you said that you are looking for physical books, but you should still go to #DriveThruRPG and pick up the free pdf versions of #Godbound, #StarsWithoutNumbers and #WorldsWithoutNumber by #SineNomine publishing. The free versions are all complete #osr based games, and have robust character crestion without being too crunchy. All are state of the art games that also are available in print if it turns out that they are what you are looking for.

So many new #TTRPG books recently! I received my #WorldsWithoutNumber source book from Kevin Crawford's #Kickstarter, got my copy of Ships of the Frontier from Mongoose for #2300AD #Traveller, found a copy of #TheStrange and Expanded Worlds for # CypherSystem from @montecook games, and just got an email that Regency Cthulhu for #CallOfCthulhu has shipped!
