Good news: A major infill development for La Crosse is back on track.
Bad news: It's totally car-brained, with an emphasis on parking, no obvious safe route to the strip mall across the highway, and no built-in transit stop (in spite of four bus routes currently serving the neighborhood).

While stopping for a pedestrian in the crosswalk of a #stroad in our town in #rural #westernwashington, we got rear-ended.
The damage is enough that #insurance is going to total the car. It's already listed (by doing a VIN search) as totaled.
I am super sad. I know it's an old car - 2007 - & not valuable (200k miles). But it's in great shape, reliable, and shouldn't have to be scrapped. Ecologically, why does it have to be this way? Ughhhhhhhh

@triddles @The_Caretaker thanks guys. In Thailand, it was actually copying European first (back during King rama IV). Bangkok got streetcars, and then we copied US for the development of single family housing and #stroad .

This project aims to turn a major stroad in Montreal into a shared space between #bicycles, #buses and #cars. It will implement a #brt (or #busrapidtransit ) and something unique to Montreal, #REV or #reseauexpressvelo which is a type of protected bike lane for longer distance travel.

Wir haben für euch #Torfhaus besucht damit ihr das nicht machen müsst. Es sei denn ihr wollt von da aus wandern wie Goethe. In dem Fall einfach mit dem 820 von Bad Harzburg bis Torfhaus. Allerdings bringt wasserdichte Schuhe mit.
Neben Hochmoor und Brocken Tour ist die Location eine #Stroad und Tourinummer im Aufbau. Der obligatorische Aussichtsturm ist noch nicht fertig.

The functional comparison between multi-use-paths(MUP) and stroads in failure may be accurate but doesn't include the difference in price paid because of the failure.
On a #stroad a failure usually results in death or very serious injury; on a #MUP a bike hitting another bike or even a person, while not good, is usually never deadly. -

This is one of the most depressing pictures I've ever seen from my city.
Everybody from both inside the city and the surrounding area has to throw themselves into this tiny choke (I say tiny but this is a 4 lane #stroad) in order to make their way to the only strip of shopping centres.
How many of these cars are carrying more than one or two people? Why can't we have a bus that runs this route? Why not some more smaller stores closer to where people live?
