Firma Samsung oficjalnie ogłosiła rozszerzenie możliwości swoich głośników z serii Sound Tower o funkcję świetlną o nazwie Sports Lighting. Dzięki niej użytkownicy mogą wyświetlać barwy narodowe wybranego kraju, a samo oświetlenie zostało zsynchronizowane z dynamiką odtwarzanego dźwięku.

Zmiana dotyczy dwóch modeli: MX-ST50F (charakteryzującego się mocą 240 W) oraz mniejszego wariantu MX-ST40F (o mocy 160 W). Warto przypomnieć, że seria Sound Tower to duże, imprezowe głośniki – nie jest to sprzęt do kina domowego, tylko do nagłaśniania większych przestrzeni. Po wdrożeniu najnowszej aktualizacji, oba urządzenia potrafią wyświetlać kolory flag ponad 70 różnych krajów, w tym oczywiście reprezentacji Polski. To funkcja czysto rozrywkowa – nie zmienia jakości dźwięku, ale ma zwiększyć immersję podczas oglądania wydarzeń sportowych.

Kibicowanie z oprawą wizualną

Funkcja Sports Lighting ściśle współpracuje z pokładowymi trybami dźwięku. Kiedy podczas transmisji meczu użytkownik aktywuje tryb Stadium Sound, który ma symulować obecność na trybunach, światło zaczyna reagować na wydarzenia z boiska.

Zależnie od akcji i płynącego z głośników dźwięku, oświetlenie może spokojnie falować lub generować szybkie, intensywne błyski, reagując na głośniejsze momenty spotkania.

Funkcja działa też poza sportem

Z nowości można korzystać nie tylko podczas oglądania rozgrywek. Funkcja Sports Mood współpracuje z odtwarzaną muzyką w trybach Standard, Wide oraz Outdoor. Kiedy urządzenie nie odtwarza żadnych dźwięków, świetlna flaga powoli powiewa. Gdy jednak włączymy muzykę, uaktywnia się wzór o nazwie „Spark”. Sprawia on, że światła zaczynają migotać i na bieżąco zmieniać swoją intensywność w rytmie odtwarzanej piosenki, tworząc efekt zsynchronizowanego oświetlenia.

To kolejny przykład, jak producenci sprzętu audio próbują łączyć dźwięk z efektami wizualnymi – podobne rozwiązania pojawiają się też w systemach smart lighting.

Jak uruchomić nowość?

Aktywacja nowej opcji wymaga wykonania jednego kroku – aktualizacji oprogramowania samego głośnika (za pośrednictwem złącza USB) oraz aplikacji mobilnej. Po zainstalowaniu nowego oprogramowania wystarczy uruchomić program Samsung Sound Tower App i przejść do trybu Sports Mood.

Aplikacja pozwala na wybór jednego z pięciu kontynentów, a następnie interesującego nas państwa. Istnieje również opcja zaznaczenia całego kontynentu – w takiej sytuacji głośnik cyklicznie wyświetla flagi wszystkich krajów z danego regionu.

Getting pretty sick of all my #Matter-enabled #IoT #SmartLighting requiring an irritating and lengthy factory reset dance anytime I update the OS on my fucking #AppleTV.

I can tell it's something wrong at the Matter level because the other ~1/3 of my smart lights are still on vanilla Thread, and don't have this issue.

Smart lightbulbs can be switched off remotely, through an app.

I can imagine corporations offering …

… Streetlights switched on when a specific device or keyring is nearby, to pay for the light.

… Pay-as-you-go lightbulbs or sockets in care homes that switch off when the credit goes to zero, like smart meters, but more granular.

So I’m looking to replace my #LifX #SmartBulbs. They’re really just not bright enough for me (being their A19/60W equivalent). I’ve been looking at #Cync and #Feit, which both have A21 (100W equiv) available. However I haven’t grabbed their apps yet. I’d like to know if anyone has recommendations for #SmartLighting that does NOT require a hub, has a decent app that lets you do things like schedule on/off/fade in or out possibly a nifty thing like schedule an effect to happen?

What about using https://forecast.solar/ for auto adjusting the brightness of #smartLightbulb•s in #HomeAssistant? Configuring the windows in the room as solar panels should lead to a viable approximation of it's current natural light conditions. 🤔

I am curious if it is superior to `sin(sun elevation)`.
