  1. Further down the #Ai perversity I #Vibecoded

    The local model (which, with only 2 Billion parameters is dumb as a tRump administration official) has even found room for snark;
"The council has been informed on previous occasions and has thanked us for our interest."

The svg graph library has various filters, of which many are newspapery.

    Why? Because I can...

Its a deterministic script that gathers system parameters of various sorts, then uses a #LocalAi model (No evil evil datacentres) to compose a newspaper 😀

    Despatches from the front: Firewall

    Tourism: Web server

Merchants advertise new stock: New patches available

  7. @brayd there is always #matrix but from my experience it is way heavier than xmpp. OMEMO, the XMPP E2E thing, is/was based on the Signal (Axolotl) crypto protocol and probably doesn't work way worse than what Matrix gives you in that regard.

Maybe do a research on any audit findings or analysis's of the ecosystem and its parts too.

Both have ample selection on servers and clients these days.

    Give both a try.

  15. Do we have any owners of one of those Ryzen AI Max+ 395 128GB UMA boxes here that operate them on the daily for at least a few months as a claude LLM coding server and are capable of giving a comparative run down on their performance vs the OG claude and its collection of formal prose generators?

Also: Especially curious to hear any numbers that came out of a watt meter in daily consumption and base/peak numbers. Same with the used models, their size, their respective achieved tok/s and response times.

And should you have had the opportunity of comparing this against non-UMA beefy dGPUs on the above parameters that'd also be quote interesting.

Anyone self hosting pixelfed and ever not been able to log into your instance? I keep getting the error in my screenshot and when I check that against the debugging tool it gives me something about an invalid key.

Теперь сижу и думаю, что можно выкинуть из сетки и выключить на серваке, чтобы дублирования не было.

  35. Almost an hour trying (unsuccessfully) to create an ssh tunnel to my home server on Cloudflare. In desperation and disbelief, I delete the tunnel, the application and its policies to start again for the fourth time, but now doing exactly the same as the first time.

You know how you have to perform a different action to get a different result? Well, here I am scratching my head like a moron.

  43. Finally pulled the trigger. I deleted Plex from my server (but left the config files in place in case I regret it). Plex builds in a lot of good features and has a much more fleshed out Android TV app than Jellyfin (which I've been running alongside it for a while), but the whole "we'll email everyone in your server and oh btw it's opt out, not opt in" was the straw that broke the camel's back.

  48. Those running docker hosts, where/how are you managing mounted volumes? What path/naming convention are you using on the host? E.g., do you have a "/sites", "/docker", or "/volumes" folder which contains content/mounts for each site?

I previously stored each in my user folder (e.g., /home/ryan/sites) but curious if anyone has a preferred set of conventions. Thanks!

  53. However, I ended up reinstalling all my apps because of all the breaking changes #TrueCharts has introduced in the last few months.

I am very grateful to the team for the great selection of apps to choose from, but it has become too involving to keep up with their internal processes changing constantly

I used the Settings > Choose Pool option with "Migrate applications" checked, after making sure I have backed up the ix-applications dataset, apps host path datasets, and PostgreSQL databases. It went smooth, no problems at all!

Does anyone know how to move the ix-applications dataset from the old pool to the new one without data loss? Can I just zfs send + zfs receive the dataset?
