What http code should I be sending to crawlers to make them stop trying with the rest of their known database on my site?
418 for some reason isn't quite cutting it

Do we have any owners of one of those Ryzen AI Max+ 395 128GB UMA boxes here that operate them on the daily for at least a few months as a claude LLM coding server and are capable of giving a comparative run down on their performance vs the OG claude and its collection of formal prose generators?
Also: Especially curious to hear any numbers that came out of a watt meter in daily consumption and base/peak numbers. Same with the used models, their size, their respective achieved tok/s and response times.
And should you have had the opportunity of comparing this against non-UMA beefy dGPUs on the above parameters that'd also be quote interesting.

EDIT: This has been resolved.
Anyone self hosting pixelfed and ever not been able to log into your instance? I keep getting the error in my screenshot and when I check that against the debugging tool it gives me something about an invalid key.

Feeling accomplished right now. After days of spinning my wheels, something finally clicked for me and, with the help of dbeaver, updated my Nextcloud PostgreSQL databases updated successfully. Goodbye 11, hello 16!

Approx. 100 DVD/Blu-Ray movies ripped, 60 still queued for transcoding.
ETA: ~1 week of non-stop 100% load on an old i5-3470.
Slowly preparing for a need to replace the CPU.

Almost an hour trying (unsuccessfully) to create an ssh tunnel to my home server on Cloudflare. In desperation and disbelief, I delete the tunnel, the application and its policies to start again for the fourth time, but now doing exactly the same as the first time.
You know how you have to perform a different action to get a different result? Well, here I am scratching my head like a moron.

Finally pulled the trigger. I deleted Plex from my server (but left the config files in place in case I regret it). Plex builds in a lot of good features and has a much more fleshed out Android TV app than Jellyfin (which I've been running alongside it for a while), but the whole "we'll email everyone in your server and oh btw it's opt out, not opt in" was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Those running docker hosts, where/how are you managing mounted volumes? What path/naming convention are you using on the host? E.g., do you have a "/sites", "/docker", or "/volumes" folder which contains content/mounts for each site?
I previously stored each in my user folder (e.g., /home/ryan/sites) but curious if anyone has a preferred set of conventions. Thanks!

However, I ended up reinstalling all my apps because of all the breaking changes #TrueCharts has introduced in the last few months.
I am very grateful to the team for the great selection of apps to choose from, but it has become too involving to keep up with their internal processes changing constantly

An update to my "migration of #TrueNAS SCALE apps to a new pool" endeavor. I used the Settings > Choose Pool option with "Migrate applications" checked, after making sure I have backed up the ix-applications dataset, apps host path datasets, and PostgreSQL databases. It went smooth, no problems at all!

I just got installed a couple of NVMe SSDs (a mirrors) in my #homelab because the performance of the #VMs and #truenas apps running in HDDs was not great.
Does anyone know how to move the ix-applications dataset from the old pool to the new one without data loss? Can I just zfs send + zfs receive the dataset?
-
1. Do a #truenas SCALE system upgrade from #Angelfish 22.02.4 to #Bluefin 22.12.1
2. Panic because all my kubernetes apps are broken
3. Follow: System settings → Boot → 22.02.4 → Activate & Re-start twice
4. Everything is back to normalI am amazed 😲

Someone should start a #college #scholarship for #foss developers and #selfhosing
Just saying...

I'd be curious to know if you've tried implementing any of them!

New chapter in my #selfhosing journey! Set up #wireguard with #PiVPN
I can't believe I put this off for as long as I have. I wanted to make sure things were running properly and securely before adding remote connections to the mix.
Still, this was up and running in minutes! I can't express enough gratitude to the devs.
Putting to the ultimate test: want to be able to watch #Jellyfin while away on vacation :dude_smug:

Probably, only tomorrow will I be able to have my server with my services online... Nameservers issues...

@jan that's upsetting 😕 I was thinking about #selfhosing #vaultwarden. atm I am still using a #keepass database that is synced around the place. Am I right in thinking you use #bitwarden clients for vaultwarden?

I'm looking to self hosted an events based social network for a local hiking club. Any ideas out there?

#pleromaadmins / #mastodonadmins I'm having this weird issue where some instance with people I want to follow, just stay at "approval waiting" and stays there. Any one know why that's the case?

Is #selfhosting a good idea ? This says not. https://www.howtogeek.com/833269/heres-why-self-hosting-a-server-isnt-a-good-idea/
I say it's the best way to learn the hard way !

Spent the evening trying to set up mastodon server on a home linux box.
I went through the setup process and fairly certain have the process running. I also connected cloudflared service to act a reverse proxy, opened a tunnel from the box to a subdomain on a hosting I own.
For now it doesn't want to load, mozilla saying too many redirects.
Will try more tomorrow but any tips are appreciated - maybe you encountered something similar?

Ok #homelab / #selfhosing ers tell me about all the cool projects you host! I need inspo! And if you say pi-hole, I'm ganna mastodon kick you in the shins 😜

@davidfield It's #twittermigration and your love of #selfhosing is just mildly disturbing. Welcome to the Heffalump place. 😎

OK, this seems fun, so here's my #introduction
I'm a computer nerd from Germany, and finished my masters degree this year. I wrote my thesis about the monitoring of #p2p #botnets, the detection thereof using #graphtheory and how to prevent detection using a #collaborated #crawling approach. Beside that I did some #sSoftwareEngineering professionally and for fun.
I am generally interested in #malware, mostly oldschool parasitic viruses.
Sometimes I play #CTF.
Currently I'm looking to get into #InfoSec professionally or academically.
Other stuff I enjoy includes #rust, #linux, #OpenSource, #selfhosing, #NixOS, #FunctionalProgamming and #AnalogPhotograpgy
