@brayd there is always #matrix but from my experience it is way heavier than xmpp. OMEMO, the XMPP E2E thing, is/was based on the Signal (Axolotl) crypto protocol and probably doesn't work way worse than what Matrix gives you in that regard.

Maybe do a research on any audit findings or analysis's of the ecosystem and its parts too.

Both have ample selection on servers and clients these days.

Give both a try.

Hace un rato descubrí un cliente para escritorio de #XMPP llamado Fluux Messenger bajo licencia AGPL, tiene una interfaz muy moderna pero con pocas configuraciones y todavía no soporta cifrado #OMEMO pero si #OpenPGP, así que si mandas un mensaje a un contacto que use algun cliente movil en el mensaje sale que el mensaje no está cifrado, y si mandas un mensaje desde el movil hacia Fluux Messenger no se puede leer porque no soporta OMEMO. Espero que en algún futuro pongan OMEMO!!!

I don't trust them and I'm not gonna blow €50+ on an anonymous (e)SIM + topping it up just for that shite…

- I'd rather pay for #XMPP+#OMEMO from some reputable provider like @monocles.

Me pregunto hasta qué punto es problema de Kaidan, que usa la versión 0.8.3 del XEP (OMEMO2) y no de que la gran mayoría de clientes se hayan quedado en la versión 0.3.0 (asumo que para mantener compatibilidad con Conversations).

Tive um problema com a criptografia #OMEMO no #XMPP. A mensagem recebida aparece corretamente no #Conversations_im, mas no Dino fica:

E no #Gajim fica:

Alguém sabe por que isso acontece?
