Leider musste ich feststellen, dass #NextCloud seine Clients nur noch als #AppImage (Files) oder #FlatPak (Talk) zur Verfügung stellt, nicht mehr als #Debian-Paket, und diese Paketquellen haben nicht selten Probleme mit dem seit einiger Zeit aktuellen Pipewire-Audiosystem von Linux.

Das Flatpak macht dabei zunächst mal genau das, was der Grund ist, dass Leute keine Debian-Pakete mehr verwenden wollen: Es beschwert sich über irgendwelche fehlenden Runtimes und ähnliches.

Das behebe ich als Nerd, woraufhin Flatpack etwa 1GB an Runtime-Gedönse runterlädt. Genauso schlecht wie Windows eben.

Dann kann ich nicht auf die Kamera zugreifen. „Fehler beim Zugriff auf die Kamera”. Ich versuche irgendwas mit Flatpak Permissions und scheitere.

Ja ich muss mal kucken, was meine #NextCloud-Instanz von #IONOS in puncto #VideoCall kann.

Ich bin halt als Tontechniker irgendwie… empfindlich.

Microsoft hat ja in Teams den Hifi Musikmodus abgeschossen, also er existiert, funktioniert aber nie richtig.

Die fehlenden Parameter für Übertragungsqualität ist in allen mir bisher untergekommenen browserbasierten Lösungen ein Problem.

For example: a Service actor might represent my mobile phone (or software on it). My phone is not me. It is something I have.

I think some might say, put the associated Service actors in "attachment". And, semantically I think that would work with ActivityPub, but — I have a very strong dislike with putting everything in "attachment" (and "tag"). It makes parsing difficult.

Ich frage mich ja, wieso kaum ein Desktop #SIP-#Telefon #VideoCall-fähig ist. Das Protokoll sollte das problemlos hergeben und eine Kamera mit Privacy-Schieber kann auch nicht das Geld kosten.

Natürlich muss die CPU genug Wumms bzw. Hardware-Beschleunigung haben um Video zu encoden, aber das sollte es auch alles Off-The-Shelf geben.
