  1. Hey #CPlusPlus #devs, want to help us out a bit with #Inkscape development? I've got a possible easy fix here that would be a tremendous benefit for our users:

    gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-

If you'd like to tackle this one, just tag me on the issue and (@rolandixor) and let me know you're in, and I'll assign it to you.

  2. -Why don't you release a Python course if you're a Python developer? You have courses on everything except the language you actually use for work.-
I said I wouldn't release anything until the skies darkened... and today there will be a total eclipse in my city.
    https://en.andros.dev/courses/ab396439/python/1/setting-up-the-environment/
It compiles all the best practices, principles, and conventions I've learned throughout my career.
    - Tool installation.
    - Project management.
    - Creating advanced functions.
    - Testing.
    - Error handling.
    - Concurrency.
    - Dependencies.
    And much more.
All with a functional approach without shying away from proper OOP practices.
Go from amateur to expert. It's available in both Spanish and English.
And best of all: free and no registration required.

  3. A feature request to the #pihole #devs: Please color-code the “type” in “domains” (Domain Management) as well. Otherwise, it's easy to overlook an ‘allow’ or “deny” when scanning through the list.
My recommendation: blue for “allow”—since it's a duty; red for “deny”—as restriction. This would match the colors in street traffic.
Why not green? Because an “allow” is more than just permission. The entry in Domains also overrules the blocklist entries!
    Thanks.
P.S.: Home is where your PiHole is. 😎

  4. Eine Bitte an die #pihole- #devs : färbt den "type" in "domains" (Domain management) doch bitte ebenfalls ein. Ansonsten übersieht man schnell ein "allow" or "deny" beim Durchsehen.
    Danke.
P.s.: Zuhause ist, wo dein PiHole ist. 😎

  5. WE NEED TO SOCIALISE TO SURVIVE!

If people don't know HOW to socialise (1-way posts are not helping) then we need to make #MASTODON SOCIAL deeper.

#Tech alone has low progress between people WHO NEED TO SOCIALISE TO SURVIVE!

    YES Agree?

    - #DEVS help pioneer their mass more socially ! #HUMANISE !

    - ENABLE ALL TO SAVE EACH OTHER MORE

    - Level-up / increment #Trust somehow.

A "better circle" of humanity is what Tech can't do (#care / #listen / understand people).

    ? YES / NO / MAYBE ?

  6. @canderson
I and many have moved a few times to try an #instance but still felt #lost...

Because many platforms & #devs are not developing their own people enough together or don't plan on using them in this people-pumping way as a social win.

Using all people not just #techies.
    Together as mass.

  7. @canderson About fatigue on Mastodon also:

I think there is more *media* here than actual social progress / socialising and that's why it can be the same media fatigue / bad news loop over and over. We are not yet developed as a positive dynamic as "social".

#Mastodon = lot of good stuff but is still 1-way / non-deep, this fails social.

By slightly more people pioneering us mutually AND the #admins #devs #caring about people #design: developing #trust / cohesion etc - we'd not only do media.

  8. @elsua54 Super.

And... Agree not to #wait for #admins & #devs ... but SUPER IMPORTANT to *show* #demand.

    Based on a #business #technique:

No demand = no supply (sometimes life needs you to demand it first and then people serve / create it to serve demand).

It's also a way of discovery and "oh that's what we should be doing now, thanks fans, we will try!"

If they decide to leave it as software-only then "oh well - we do best we can without their mutual help further than the software side."

  9. @elsua54 Summary:
1- PLENTY we don't see is good or worth doing again

...Even if not done for ages:
    (e.g. developing people & skills).

2- Use of the word "die" was unclear
...Consider: "die" (air quotes as indicator) or "be sacrificed" etc

"you seem to put a lot more emphasis on #devs and #admins ... because they may understand quite well they will be the first ones to die." <- "die"/be attacked etc...

#devs/#admins #help lead. If not we individually don't learn much socially likes today.

  10. @elsua54 @sturmsucht Maybe - or they have to unlock / face their fear of people (or whatever it is) since I believe we are all social or can be with the right help, it's human and there somewhere!

If #admins and #devs have no interest... THAT IS ILLNESS.

Similarly I might not like a sport but I should be able to see how it works, and we MUST do this people thing also, and how software is MISSING the point...

Else it's more blind (maybe they believe in Mastodon principles but not really)...

  11. @elsua54 @sturmsucht

2/ We are still waiting on a '#system' to solve humanity...
    We waiting for a #machine
We waiting for a #software etc

of which work -only- humans can do with humans!

No machine does the people work to develop people (it's not just about Mastodon developing software).

We have to learn what #freedom is and give it to others measurably better.

    Mini-Conclusion

Even the #devs and #admins for #freedoms are not working on #pioneering people - just #software!

    Amazing right?
